Before Skorupi or Gliscor were revealed, many fans speculated that Drapion evolved from Gligar, due to their similar appearance.
Despite Drapion's Bug-like appearance, it is not a Bug-type.
Both of Drapion's abilities revolve around critical hits. Battle Armor protects it from them, and Sniper strengthens a move that becomes a critical hit to 3× the damage instead of 2×.
