This is a list of all key items that are found in Generation II. Please note that many of these are also part of the list of key items in Generation IV due to Pokémon Gold and Silver being remade, and several appear in multiple generations.

Effect: Use to move faster than walking.					Locations GSC The bike shop in northeast Goldenrod City
Description GSC A collapsible bike for fast movement.

Effect: Allows player to answer daily question on Buena's show every evening to get points exchangeable for items.					Locations C Goldenrod Radio Tower
Description C Card to save points.

Card Key カードキー Card Key   KEY ITEMS pocket					INTRODUCED IN GEN II		Cannot be bought Cannot be sold
Effect: Opens doors in the Goldenrod Radio Tower.					Locations GSC Gift from the manager after saving him in Goldenrod's underground.
Description GSC Opens shutters in the Radio Tower.

Clear Bell とうめいなスズ Clear Suzu   KEY ITEMS pocket					INTRODUCED IN GEN II		Cannot be bought Cannot be sold
Effect: Summons a Suicune at the Tin Tower in Ecruteak City.					Locations C Gift from the manager after saving Goldenrod Radio Tower.
Description C Makes a gentle ringing.

Coin Case コインケース Coin Case   KEY ITEMS pocket					INTRODUCED IN GEN I		Cannot be bought Cannot be sold
Effect: Holds up to 9999 coins for use at the Rocket Game Corner and Goldenrod Game Corner.					Locations GSC In the southern part of the Underground Path in Goldenrod City.
Description GSC Holds up to 9,999 game coins.

Effect: Exchange at the Pokémon Communication Center for an Egg.					Locations C Pokémon daycare on Route 34*
Description C May be used at the Goldenrod Pokémon Communication Center.

Effect: Allows the player to fish in bodies of water. More powerful than the Old Rod.					Locations GSC Gift from a fisherman inside Olivine City's Café.
Description GSC A good Rod for catching Pokémon.

Effect: Summons Celebi in Ilex Forest.					Locations C Pokémon Communication Center*

Effect: Locates items hidden on the ground.					Locations GSC Gift from a person inside a house next to Ecruteak City's Gym.
Description GSC Checks for unseen items in the area.

Effect: Return to the Copycat for a Pass for the Magnet Train.					Locations GSC Received from the a member of the Pokémon Fan Club in Vermilion City after hearing about Copycat's missing doll.

Effect: Take to the Power Plant to restore power to the Magnet Train.					Locations GSC Hidden in the water of Cerulean City's Gym.

Effect: Allows the player to ride the Magnet Train between Saffron City and Goldenrod City.					Locations GSC Received from Copycat after returning her Lost Item.

Effect: Allows admission to the S.S. Aqua.					Locations GSC New Bark Town, given by Professor Elm after beating the Elite Four.
Description GSC A ticket for the S.S. Aqua.
Note: Not to be confused with the S.S. Ticket from Generation I or Generation III.

Super Rod すごいつりざお Amazing Fishing Rod   KEY ITEMS pocket					INTRODUCED IN GEN I		Cannot be bought Cannot be sold
Effect: Allows the player to fish in bodies of water. It is the most advanced rod.					Locations GSC Received from the Route 12's Fishing Guru.
Description GSC The best Rod for catching Pokémon.
