(Japanese: ジャローダ Jaroda) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Janoby starting at level 36. It is the final form of Tsutarja.
Biology
Physiology
Jaroda is a primarily pale-green, snake-like Pokémon. Jaroda has curled pale-green patterns on the sides of its face and snout, and small, pointed yellow extensions on the back of their heads. Its face and upper neck are white-colored, and curled, tendril-like darker green extensions spread out from the sides of its lower neck, forming a curling pattern lower down the body, resembling a fancy collar. It has narrow yellow eyes. The upper section of its body is dark green, and the lower pale green. Curled yellow patterns adorn its body, and a sprig-like feature of several leaves tip its tail. It has lost its legs completely, and now only has small, stubby hands.

Trivia
- Jaroda is the tallest of all fully evolved starter Pokémon.
- Jaroda is the only starter Pokémon with no legs.
- Jaroda and its evolution family are the only Gen V starters without a signature move
Origin
Jaroda is based off a generic, non-venomous snake, such as the Rough Green Snake or the Emerald Tree Boa and its design was based off of Strelitzias, most likely either the strelitzia juncea and/or the strelitzia regina. Its appearence may have also been inspired by the Quetzalcoatl; a green, feathered serpent deity. It and its pre-evolutions were confirmed to have been inspired from European, specifically French, royalty. The fact that Jaroda amplifies sunlight in its body, as stated in its Pokédex entry, may be an allusion to King Louis XIV, a famous French king who referred to himself as the "Sun King". Jaroda also bears similarities to fictional Transylvanian vampires due to the pale skin on its head, its thin stature, and the enormous collar-like structure on its neck.
