Trivia
- Washibon can be seen as a counterpart to Baruchai: Both are dual-typed Template:Type2 Pokémon that are described as baby eagles, are members of a two-stage evolutionary family who evolve into their final form at level 54. They are both also members of a single-gender species (Washibon is exclusively male, whereas Baruchai is exclusively female). Their movesets are also substantially similar, sharing the same number of start moves and level-up moves, with all of their level-up moves occurring at the same levels. They are also version exclusive, Washibon being exclusive to White and Baruchai being exclusive to Black.
Origin
Washibon is based on an eagle chick. The single plume on its head resembles an honor feather, such as the ones worn by the Plains Indians. This, in combination with its evolution's warbonnet-like crest, suggests inspiration from Native American warriors.
Name origin
Washibon derives the beginning part of its name from 鷲 washi, Japanese for eagle.
