Rand (Japanese: タルガ Talga) is a character in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs
He is the Area Ranger in charge of patrolling the Oblivia region at the beginning of the game. Rand lives on Renbow Island with his wife Leanne and daughter Nema. He is first met by the player at the Wireless Tower on top of Mt. Latolato, where he asks the player to help him save the Radio Base from the Pokémon Pinchers who have taken it over. He then accompanies the player on many important missions and appears in many places, such as the Oblivia Ruins to get his wife and daughter back and the Air Fortress. Rand, with the help of one of his daughters inventions, manages to tamper with the Super Plasma Cannon on the Air Fortress saving Renbow island from destruction. He is temporarily sucked into a void by Purple Eyes's Mewtwo while sacrificing his life for Edward's sake while on the Air Fortress. He is later brought back by Mewtwo and goes with Leanne to a conference in another region.
