Trivia
- The English dub title is based on the television series Candid Camera.
- This episode was aired in English exactly one year after the Japanese airdate.
Errors
- In the Trainer's Choice portion of this episode, the viewer is asked to pick which of these three Pokémon would be the best choice to battle Camerupt: Beedrill, Nuzleaf, or Magcargo. The answer is revealed as Nuzleaf. While Nuzleaf, as a Template:Type2, would be effective against Camerupt's Template:Type2, it would be less effective on Camerupt's primary Template:Type2, and be at risk of high damage. In truth, none of the Pokémon would be effective battle choices, though Magcargo would suffer the least damage from Camerupt's Fire attacks, due to its Rock and Template:Type2s, but also has a quadruple weakness against Camerupt's Ground attacks.
- In one shot, one of Ash's thumbs are colored black, like his glove.
- When Brock sends out his Mudkip its mouth doesn't move when it says its name.
