Spear Pillar

Spear Pillar (Japanese: やりのはしら Spear Pillar) is a location in the Sinnoh region, located atop Mt. Coronet, where Dialga or Palkia can be battled and captured in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, depending on the version. It is also where the player meets the boss of Team Galactic, Cyrus, and faces off against him as well as Mars and Jupiter.

If the player has the Azure Flute, they will play the flute when they enter Spear Pillar, and a staircase will appear to the Hall of Origin, in which is Arceus.

Trivia

• The name spear pillar is a reference to the creation myth in Shintō, where the deities Izanagi and Izanami were given the spear 天沼矛 Ame-no-nuboko, with which they created 淤能碁呂島 Onogoroshima, upon which they built the pillar 天御柱 Ame-no-mihashira.
