After yet another failed attempt to master Draco Meteor, Ash's Gible falls into a lake and has to be saved by Buizel. After the successful rescue, Ash and Buizel are suddenly challenged to a battle by a Black Belt named Clayton against his Mr. Mime. Ash and Buizel naturally agree, however it soon emerges that this Mr. Mime is a powerful battler and Buizel is easily defeated. Ash then asks to train with Clayton, determined to master ice punch for Buizel. Clayton then takes Ash and Buizel to a waterfall were Mr. Mime shows them what he can do, by punching the waterfall and turning it all into ice. Clayton then punches it but it does not make a splash and his hand didn't get wet. Ash and Buizel then practise trying it though Clayton says they need to improve. At dinner (which Clayton and his Mr. Mime enjoy), Ash, Pikachu and Buizel walk off and Buizel practises Ice Punch on leaves. He almost masters it but the camera switches to Ash challenging Clayton to a battle. At the start of the battle the same moves are used as before, just with more precision. After some extremely hard work from both Ash and Buizel, they finally perfect the move Ice Punch in order to beat Mr. Mime's ThunderPunch and achieve victory.
The English title of this episode is a reference to the phrase "short and to the point".
