A relatively engaged and active user, Dr. Herbalfusion takes interest in Pokémon behaviors, diets, and special abilities. He follows these interests by being a member of the Project BerryDex, Project Moves and Abilities and Project Pokédex. He specifically has been studying the link between phototropism and geotropism with grass-type Pokémon, as well as grass-type tolerances to water, with abilities such as Water Absorb being tested with his Maractus. Herbalfusion generally avoids battling; instead he focuses on studying his Pokémon or occasionally entering prestigious Pokémon Contests to show off his Maractus' Petal Dance in combination with his Whimsicott's Hurricane. Herbalfusion specializes in the Grass-type, and his companions are Whimsicott, Tropius, Cherrim, Sawsbuck, Ferrothorn and Maractus. A few general habits Herbalfusion has developed is feeding his Pokémon freshly grown Berries and Moomoo Milk, and when it comes to battling, he is a very large fan of inducing Infatuation.

Herbalfusion (Herbie Alex Fusionne) was born in Valencia Island, in the south-west region of the Orange Archipelago. His first Pokémon was a Cottonee which he hatched from an egg given to him by his father after it was found hidden in a food supplies shipment from the Unova Region. Herbalfusion (as he prefers to be called) worked part-time as an assistant to Professor Ivy in her research of strange colorations in the Pokémon of the Orange Archipelago, in her Pokémon Laboratory. He then many years later evolved his Cottonee into his prized Whimsicott, after he used it to defeat Luana at the Pokémon Gym on Kumquat Island in a double battle, with a Cherubi that was given to him by Professor Ivy as a thank you for his hard work, as she had been studying it's behavior and was unable to make it evolve. The Orange League was in fact the only set of Pokémon Gyms he challenged, as he quickly learned that there was more to Pokémon than battling after he defeated Drake in Pummelo Stadium and won the coveted Winner's Trophy of the Orange League. Herbalfusion then traveled to the Johto region after receiving a distress call from MooMoo Farm, near Olivine City. One of the farmer's Miltank had a strange illness, and Herbalfusion was only able to heal it with a remedy of locally-grown Berries, which is where he developed his affinity with Berries.

Dr. Herbalfusion studied a double degree at the prestigious Celadon University in Kanto, where he majored in Grass-type Pokémon phototropism and Grass-type Pokémon transformations, and was taught by Erika. He then completed some further practical studies at the Xanadu Nursery near Pallet Town, studying the effects of Florinda Showers' Gloom's Stun Spore.Herbalfusion is now completing a PhD on the flight capabilities of Jumpluff, and is attempting to create a Pokémon Conservatory for his studies in the peaceful fields of Floaroma Town, in Sinnoh.
