Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.

For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Instead of editing the userspace, as a wiki, we encourage users to edit the mainspace. So, if you edit the mainspace more often, you will be allowed to edit the userspace more. Thanks! ----freezingCOLD(page, talk)22:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Regarding PokéPark Pad entries...
Latest comment: 9 November 201010 comments3 people in discussion
Heh, thanks. Rather an ironic one as well considering it'll probably be deleted as soon as we transfer them all to the Pokémon pages they belong on. But Werdnae suggested I do it so I did. :B Jo The Marten07:19, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, the contributions will still be yours; you'll be able to look at those pages and go, "Nice! I made that happen." - unsigned comment from Hexagon Theory (talk • contribs)
And now you can start if you like. There's now a space in the Sidegame template for it. The parameter for the entry is Pad. If the Pad parameter has something in it then the section will show up on the page automatically. Thanks for doing all that work to get their entries. Werdnae(talk)08:12, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'll work on it tomorrow. I'm just adding stuff to the Zone pages for now, then probably gonna go to bed. Speaking of zones, would you mind moving Meeting Center? It's not actually called the Meeting Center in the game. Jo The Marten08:16, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done. It didn't seem to be protected, so you could have done it yourself if you wanted. Just something I noticed when I went to do one myself, it looks like a line break (<br/>) will need to be inserted between the sentences when you add it so it doesn't get extremely wide. And don't feel pressured to do it or anything. Werdnae(talk)08:34, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Or we could do it the easy, obvious way like you suggested. It already is set to 100%. The problem is that the width of the outer table wasn't set. I've fixed that though, so the linebreak isn't required. Werdnae(talk)08:51, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hah, I love the example you put, Werdnae. I figured out a way to take pictures without it being a thirdperson view so I'll upload the new images then I'm done for the day. Think the archives should have images of all the Pokémon? Before you say it's a bit much, consider that there are sprites of every Pokémon in the archives from the Mystery Dungeon titles. Jo The Marten08:56, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think that would be a good idea. Hopefully all that stuff can be incorporated into the sprite box once it gets a redesign or something. Werdnae(talk)09:05, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Alright. I'll work on it tomorrow. I'll also see about getting the icons used in the Attractions somehow. And don't worry, I'll be fine after some sleep. Jo The Marten09:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks :) Hm...yea, it probably would work better in the zone articles. Also any help with getting these tables together would be greatly appreciated. I'm actually trying to see if I can work out a theoretical "maximum score" for each Pokémon now (by actually playing the game). For Ursaring, Hitmonlee, Magmortar, Electivire and Metagross, you can easily obtain the maximum score of 99,999. I'm trying out Torchic right now but I can't seem to get any higher than 30,000. I'm thinking of putting the maximum score for it at 25-30,000. OnixPachirisu23:43, 10 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

As it would happen, I DID have some more questions. For instance, how many edits do I need to make before customizing my user page? How do I add pokemon to the section of a route's page that says which ones appear there? Why can't Feraligatr learn waterfall? And lots more I won't barrage you with.Crystal4Life02:06, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why did you revert all my edits referring to Squirtle's gender as unknown? I provided the reasoning and policy of the wiki for it and you just changed them. --Jda9505:43, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
However, the Japanese version did apparently confirm him to be male. If it's said in the original version we usually go with it, as the English or other dubs might add or remove things. --P S Yライダー☮05:52, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I gave my reasoning in the talk page, the personal pronoun Zenigame uses in EP017 does not necessarily mean its a male, as often tough girls in anime and manga use the pronoun. I've brought the issue to the attention of Kenji-girl who I've asked to give a verdict. --Jda9506:25, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jo, you are pro at wiki. Because of all the time and effort and blood (or so I heard) that went into those PokéPark Wii articles, you get the number one sparkler. (Also you ditched Wikia, so you got some brownie points there.) Keep it up! —darklordtrom09:32, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I can see where this is going since there was already a separate section for those under characteristics and we thought it was a vandalism edit. Course if I was the one who dealt with it first before you did it yourself then I would have gotten the message instead since I was also monitoring the recent changes. -Tyler5384105:32, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Since you saw the page tell me if I made a more errors (except for mistakes in English, I want to fix, of course)please??
What do you think of little that is completed it? The opinion of someone more experienced with the site I would be very useful.

Hi. You just told me that I can't have a friends list. If I deleted it right now, would I get in trouble (I've already edited my page once today)? :--SuperAipom7(Questions?)01:16, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
You mean make it so you can just use a template code? If you give it its own subpage under your user space (Such as "User:SuperAipom7/Nav" or whatever you like) you can use "{{User:SuperAipom7/Nav}}" so that way you won't have a huge code all over your page. Is that what you were asking? (Oh and doing this WILL count towards the one user page edit) ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥20:57, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Either search for the page title you want to make and where it says "This page does not exist. Make this page?", or go to your page, and in the URL at the top of your browser type in "/Pagenametitle" after your username so again it'll show up like "User:SuperAipom7/Pagenametitle"and it should take you to a blank article page you can create. But after you make it, you'll need to wait until tomorrow before you add it to your page. (And don't forget to do some hard work on the main space ;) ) ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥21:03, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nope. Sorry, that's your job. You've got to help out around the main space before you're allowed to make a userpage. If you'd like to just have a profile, and not help out, you can make an account on the forums when they come back up. This is not MySpace, and you'll need to be constructive and earn your userpage. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥19:46, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm just going to add here that even if someone were to break the rules and help you circumvent the userspace policy, until you've had your account for a short time and made a number of mainspace edits, you can't edit it. The restriction's not on creating. Werdnae(talk)19:53, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re: Abyssal Ruins
Latest comment: 19 June 201110 comments2 people in discussion
OK, as far as I know there is no /official/ translation. However, that said, I see no reason that we can't add them considering that its clearly a simple code once you know the cipher. Seriously, you can go to the ruins yourself and check the code like myself, it works. Even if nintendo hadn't officially revealed this to us I see no reason why we can't add this information, since a.) its just simple cryptography and b.) things nintendo hasn't "official" revealed to us before have been added to bulbapedia (e.g. event pokemon like Arceus, Shaymin, Meloetta & Genesect, the latter two still not being "officially" revealed). Thirdly, the game guide teases that there is meaning behind the symbols (quote, the abyssal ruins section: "Check these stones and you will see they are covered in mysterious letters...what could be written here?) Lastly, I feel it would be a great shame to see all this clearly correct information be disregarded on a technicality (if said technicality exists). The message is as verifiable as can be IMO and I strongly feel that it should remain. Green Zubat02:17, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
While it's true it says something, how did they come about choosing these exact translations? It's odd that the letters change throughout the floors. Also, it's true Arceus & co. weren't officially revealed, but we could still read their names etc. We can't read this. Someone could make the message say anything they want to and pass it off as official translation. Perhaps TPCi will release translations eventually, perhaps they won't. But I'm not sure whether to consider this research, or just fan speculation... I'll ask some of the other staff about it. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥02:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks. I know its odd how it works but at the end of the day, it does work. I mean, isn't it really just equivalent to GF leaving info in the game in a foreign language and not "revealing" what they say? Like those people you meet on other routes?Green Zubat02:35, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well....the difference there is that French is an actual language. :P If you speak French, you can translate that. No one speaks these gibberish symbols though~ At least no one I've seen. Even Hylian has a way of translating. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥02:44, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ah, but the thing is these symbols aren't gibberish, they're apparent gibberish, just like French to any non-speaker and just like French (or any other language) there's a clear order to both, not just nonsense and if you how to translate them (i.e. if you speak french or know the cipher respectively) then you can discern that order. The french language & Cryptography are both established practices and GF included them both into the game without "revealing" it, hence they should both be elaborated on in articles about those sections of the game, no?Green Zubat02:51, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure, if it's an actual language, that could validate things right up. By the way, I tested it out in-game. Would you mind supplying the link to the Gaia post that you found this on? Might answer a few more questions. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥03:02, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I included it in the talk page, here it is. There's also this one which gets the same message after supposedly cross referencing other sites and countless others as a quick google search will show. Also, where you said "someone could make it say anything" that's not how cryptography/ciphers work, any attempt to use the fake cipher on the code should show the weakness.Green Zubat03:07, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
P.S. As for whether or not it is cuneiform, I don't know because I don't know that script well enough, though from what I can gather there are several forms, one of which the abyssal ruins supposedly pertains to.Green Zubat03:11, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm about to go to bed now, 'cause its super late over here however before I go (in case you were still wondering how they got the translation) I'd forgotten earlier to mention [specifically] the code was cracked by trial & error - testing different letters in different positions to see how they fit, that's usually how decoding a cipher works. Silktree/the OP admits that here. Also, thanks for taking the time to actually consider this; I'll watch this space for updatesGreen Zubat04:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is there any reason why you are doubting the Pokemon Smash preview, by putting the Pokemon that appeared in it, in "hidden" tags (or whatever technical name is for those arrow things)? --Dman dustin17:41, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Because there were two previews shown, one in the middle of the show, and one shown at the end of the show. The one at the end of the show is typically for the upcoming episode, but it looked like the other preview was for the tournament in general. I don't remember them saying it was specifically for BW039 or if they took clips from all four episodes and mashed them together. If you've got any proof that they're from BW039, by all means show it. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥18:42, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Recharge moves
Latest comment: 10 July 20112 comments2 people in discussion
If a Pokémon uses a variation of Hyper Beam in the anime and doesn't recharge, and uses it many times in a row. Does that count as an anime error? I do know that Games =/= Anime. PattyMan23:08, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Nope. The anime is too inconsistent in terms of recharge moves, or moves like Hi Jump Kick or Take Down where the user takes damage. Sometimes they might mention a recharge, other times they'll forget about it and Pokémon may use moves over and over without caring about a recharge. Probably because the anime is much less "turn based" than the games are and trainers just call out orders left and right. Plus the game has them for balancing things out while the anime only has a story, so they'll bend the rules a bit to help move the story along. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥23:20, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The reason I commented on the old discussions was that I was asking for something to be re posted. I was not the one to post the piece of trivia, but someone deleted a completely relevant piece of trivia on the page for the Pokemon Treeko. The piece of trivia stated how Treeko walked on all fours in Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue team, even though he is known to be bipedal. Somebody deleted this just because he walks on two feet in the newest Mystery Dungeon games. I commented there because I think that this should be re posted. Thank you for your time. Card Scans

My mistake, I'll upload with the same names as before... if I can. (I'm not sure I have enough edits or whatever to overwrite the old files.) But... can you elaborate on what you mean about "poor quality"? The quality sure looks fine to me, and frankly they look a hell of a lot better than the Japanese scans currently up... Ribbity10402:16, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The image quality isn't going to get much better - the lines and text are all nice and crisp. But I can tone down the brightness a bit. Give me a couple minutes and I'll see what I can do... Ribbity10402:46, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
All right then, I think/hope it's better now. When you get a chance, can you check out MaractusBW011 on the archives as a sample to see if it looks good to you? Ribbity10403:00, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, the English cards are brighter/yellower than their Japanese counterparts. Plus you've only seen Grass types so far. But it looks like I can't upload over the old files anyway, so... I guess I'm out of luck. Oh well. Ribbity10403:13, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Not just that. I had my Maractus card in my hand and compared it to your scan, that's what I was using as reference. You can't upload over them? That's odd. As far as I know, they're not protected. ★Jo the Marten★ಠ_ಠ♥03:16, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
You have no idea how often I hear that question. No, seriously though, I guess it's because I'm not "autoconfirmed" yet.
