Special abilities
It can burn opponents by scattering the fire inside its body from its head and tail.
Simisear, along with Simisage and Simipour, and their respective pre-evolutions, are the only non-starter Pokémon that can have a starter Pokémon-exclusive ability. In Simisear and Pansear's case, this is Blaze.
Despite its species name in both Japanese and English version and White Pokédex entry, Simisear cannot learn Ember by any means.
Origin
Simisear is based on a monkey and a flame, though its midsection's pattern, cloud- or steam-like appendages and flame-like appendages make it similar in appearance to an active volcano. It, along with its two contemporaries, seem to inspired by the three wise monkeys motif; with its large ears, Simisear represents "hear no evil".
Name origin
Simisear may come from "simian" and "sear" or "ear". Baokkie's name may come from the Chinese reading of 爆 bào (burst/explode), バースト bāsuto, meaning burst, and from monkey. It may also come from the word けっき kekki meaning vigor.
