Treecko (Japanese : キモリ Kimori ) is a Grass -type Pokémon. Along with Torchic and Mudkip , it is one of three starter Pokémon you can choose from at the beginning of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire , and Pokémon Emerald .
Treecko comes with the Ability Overgrow, which increases the power of Grass-type attacks by 50% once the Pokémon has less than one-third of its maximum HP.
Treecko evolves into Grovyle starting at Level 16, then into Sceptile starting at Level 36.
Biology Physiology Gender differences None.
Special abilities Behavior Habitat Treecko lives inside overgrown forests.

Ruby Treecko has small hooks on the bottom of its feet that enable it to scale vertical walls. This Pokémon attacks by slamming foes with its thick tail.
Sapphire Treecko is cool, calm, and collected - it never panics under any situation. If a bigger foe were to glare at this Pokémon, it would glare right back without conceding an inch of ground.
Emerald It makes its nest in a giant tree in the forest. It ferociously guards against anything nearing its territory. It is said to be the protector of the forest's trees.
FireRed It quickly scales even vertical walls. It senses humidity with its tail to predict the next day's weather.

Evolution Trivia Treecko and its evolutions are the only Template:Type2 starter Pokémon that are not quadrupedal.
It is also the only Grass-type starter that cannot learn the move Razor Leaf .
Treecko is also the only Grass-type starter that does not resemble a dinosaur. However, it does resemble a gecko or lizard. Origin Its design shares some similarities with the leaf-tailed gecko , a species of lizard that blends in with plant-like appendages.
Name origin Treecko's name seems to be made up of the words tree and gecko Kimori may be a combination of 木 ki , tree, and 森 mori , forest.
