Rald is an experienced young Pokémon Trainer. He meets Enta and ends up becoming the energetic young boy's teacher, but refuses to go easy on him in battles. He is a character in Pokémon Battle Frontier.

Rald is based on Brendan and his name is a shortening of "Emerald". "Rald" is also one of the default names for Brendan in the Japanese version of Pokémon Emerald.

Sceptile is one of Rald's main Pokémon. It has helped Rald in many of his battles and defeated many opponents in the Battle Frontier including Enta's Vulpix despite the type-disadvantage and getting hurt by Overheat.

Sceptile's only known move is Leaf Blade.

Charizard

Charizard is another one of Rald's main Pokémon. It has been in many battles and has beaten many opponents such as Mitsuki's Shroomish and Enta's Zangoose.

Charizard's only known move is Flamethrower.

Gyarados

Rald registered his Gyarados before his battle with Enta.

Manectric

Rald sent out Manectric after Enta fell asleep.
