Espeon (Japanese: エーフィ Eifie) is a Psychic-type Pokémon. It evolves from Eevee.
Biology
Physiology
Espeon is the result of an Eevee being with a Pokémon trainer that it is close to for a certain amount of time and that moment happens during daytimes hours. Espeon has a cat-like appearance with lavender fur. Espeon has skinny, forked tail, which also helps it predict possible outcomes. Espeon has clumps of hair near its ears and a has a red third-eye gem on its forehead. Due to being a Pokémon of the feline persuasion with a red third-eye gem, it has been mistaken a relative of Persian.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Espeon has developed Psychic powers due to a combination of great loyalty to its trainer and sunlight, such as the ability to predict its opponents' movements by reading the air currents. Like most fully evolved Pokémon, Espeon can learn Hyper Beam or Giga Impact. One would also assume that Espeon can learn Power Gem due to being a gem-bearing Pokémon, but it doesn't.
Behavior
Espeon are very loyal to their trainers and will protect them from harm.

Evolution
Trivia
Origin
It appears to be based on legend of the nekomata, also known as bake-neko. Nekomata are mysterious two-tailed goblin cats.
Name origin
Espeon's name is derived from ESP, or extra-sensory perception, a branch of psychic abilities. -eon is the suffix common to all of Eevee's evolutions. Espeon's Japanese name is probably derived from the fact that its forked tail looks similar to a capital letter "F".

Trivia
Contrary to popular belief, Espeon can be evolved in the Generation III Gameboy Advance Games, but only in the Ruby, Sapphir and Emerald games, by levelling it up while it has a happiness of 220, during the day time (12:00 am to 12:00 pm).
