Bone Rush (Japanese: ボーンラッシュ Bone Rush) is a damage-dealing Ground-type multi-hit move introduced in Generation II and was, prior to Generation IV, one of the Signature moves of Cubone and Marowak.
Effect
Generation II and III
Bone Rush inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. This gives the attack an average power of 75, ignoring the possibility of missing. Each hit made has an equal chance to be a critical hit.
Bone Rush will end immediately if it breaks a Substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.
Generation IV
Same as previous generations, except it will continue attacking after a Substitute is broken.
Generation V
The accuracy of Bone Rush is increased from 80 to 90. Unlike previous generations, if Focus Sash, Focus Band, or Sturdy activate before the last hit is dealt, the following hit will cause the defending Pokémon to faint; however, Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent of the previous one. Each hit will cause Weak Armor to activate.
