Even if his shortened name in the US is Wake, is his full name still "Crasher Wake", in the same way "Maximum Mask" is shortened to "Maxi" in Japanese? --Zeta 16:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, it's what he's almost always referred to (and before we knew Wake, it was at Maxi, right? Not "Maximum Kamen" or anything).--Loveはドコ? 17:07, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well yes, but my point is we generally list character articles under their full names. IE Steven Stone instead of "Steven". --Zeta 16:43, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not just that, it says on the Gym's sign and in other places Crasher Wake instead of Wake. --TTEchidna 06:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. Crasher Wake it is. - 振霖T 08:28, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No Mawile?

Darn. TTEchidna 01:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mawhile? What's that Steel-type-that-should-have-been-a-Dark-type got to do with anything? - unsigned comment from Cassius335 (talkcontribs)
TTE is just obsessed with Strong Bad and thinks that the Japanese writers would actually give the Water Gym Leader a Kucheat. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 11:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I want Mawile to appear again too, but with a Water Gym Leader it just seems....out there 0_0 --Ricco 17:41, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anime pic redo

Could we get a better anime pic that doesn't look all weird. All the other gym leaders in Sinnoh have better face pictures. --Ricco 17:41, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

We could get one that shows his relative height to the others. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Something about the Trivia bit

I don't get the part which says that Crasher Wake was the first Gym Leader he battled and won without any of his Pokémon fainting. Is this trivia for Sinnoh only? If it's not, then we should consider Ash's battle against Wattson. JirachiWishmaker0802 18:56 08 August 2008 (UTC)

That really didn't count because Pikachu was all powered up thanks to that robotic Raikou. He didn't win fairly. Wattson just let him get away with it because he inspired him to be a Gym leader again. --ケンジガール 11:10, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Antonio?

That his name? TTEchidna 23:37, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trivia

Does the following make no sense to anyone else?

  • Since Pokémon Platinum switched up the order of the Gyms encountered, Crasher Wake is technically the fourth Gym Leader in the anime to be challenged by Ash out of sequence with the games, though Ash encountered him in the correct sequence according to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Um... games? There are only three games (Diamond, Pearl and Platinum). Ash is using D&P order. How does Platinum having it's own order suddenly make Ash "out of order in the games"? - Cassius335 16:05, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Games is in the general sense. Out of all the Pokémon games to have been released, Crasher Wake is the fourth gym leader to be battled out of order. According to Platinum, Ash is not following the usual order, but not if we are considering Diamond and Pearl. Jmath 16:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Why would Ash be in Platinum order? Platinum only just came out. The anime has been follwing the Diamond and Pearl order; Platinum having it's own order shouldn't invalidate that. The above paragraph, as it stands, is nonsenseical and contradicts itself ("Ash encoutered Wake out-of-order... except he didn't"). - Cassius335 16:36, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
The paragraph means according to two of the three games in the same generation, Ash battled out of order but according to the other same generation game, he was out of order. Jmath 16:40, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah... I don't think that last sentence came out the way you meant it to. - Cassius335 16:52, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yah, I know. Jmath 17:00, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
My point is: Ash isn't supposed to be in Platinum order, so he's not "out of order". - Cassius335 17:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
As Ash is going the Generation IV route (which includes, yes, Platinum), then, following Platinum order or not, he's still out of order. Yes, he may not have been Platinum Order, but he isn't D/P order, either (otherwise, he, Dawn, and Brock would have fought Team Galactic sooner than later..) Weedle Mchairybug 17:24, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Team Galactic has nothing to do with Gym Leader order. - Cassius335 17:26, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
It deals with the D/P games, though, so that still counts for something. Besides, in D/P, Roark doesn't even OWN a Rampardos (yes, he owns Cranidos, but that's not the same thing.), which is closer to the example I'm trying to get at. Besides, it still counts anyways. Don't you get it? He's doing it in Gen IV order (which includes Diamond, Pearl, and, yes, even Platinum), and it does, technically, count as out-of-order, regardless of whether Platinum came out before or after. Weedle Mchairybug 17:31, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wrong. There is no "Gen IV order". Not anymore, anyway. Gen IV now has two orders: D&P order and Platinum order. And D&P order is the one that counts, because that's been "Gen IV order" up until Platinum came out and decided to be different. - Cassius335 17:40, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, Gen IV order or not, it still counts as being Out-Of-Order, in my book (if it isn't followed in the same order in the anime, regardless if it's the games fault or not, It's still out of order. Live with it.) Weedle Mchairybug 17:42, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Weedle, your book is written in crayon. Ash is doing the gyms in D&P order, the correct order. Thus, he is not out-of-order. - Cassius335 17:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Think about how many fillers wouldn't have happened if the writers went in order according to Platinum--KukiTalk 17:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why would they? The anime using Platinum as a guide long before Platinum was even released - openly contradicting D&P in the process - would be very, very strange. - Cassius335 17:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
If there are no further objections, that bit needs removing. - Cassius335 01:38, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I OBJECT!--KukiTalk 01:44, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

You usually explain yourself after making an objection, instead of randomly doing whatever you want.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 01:50, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK, then I believe that it was correct in the first place--KukiTalk 01:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

And this can't be solved by rewording the passage? It's awkward to begin with. It could seriously use the reword. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 02:42, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's not correct, Kuki. The anime is not suddenly out-of-order. Platinum is out-of-order and calling the anime out-of-order because of Platinum is all kinds of unrealistic and unfair. By the time Platinum came out, both Maylene and Crasher Wake had already been and gone. Ash fought them in the order that was presented: The one from Diamond and Pearl. He's not supposed to be in Platinum order.
Arc, You can try, but I'm not sure there's anything to save. - Cassius335 12:56, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

With the release of Pokémon Platinum, the order of three Gym battles in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are now shifted: instead of being fourth, Creasher Wake is now fifth in the line-up. Had Ash fought Fantina previous to Maylene, he would have inadvertently gone out of order compared to the DP line-up, but in order for the Platinum line-up. Currently, Ash battled the three shifted Gym Leaders in the order designated by DP, as Platinum was not released until after Ash fought Crasher Wake, but before Fantina.
What, like that? Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 02:46, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's about right, yeah. - Cassius335 10:22, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Manga Image

So I Was Reading the most recent volume of Pokespe released by Chuang yi and I saw that we can see his face (although it is shadowed) so I took the liberty of uploading it...

and I was wondering if I can put it on his page...

and if so I have no idea how to add an image anyway...

Japanese name

Is there a specific reason why kanji is used over hiragana? (仮面 vs かめん) For example, is it shown that way in other media (anime, magazines, merchandise, etc) besides the games? I suppose it doesn't really matter all that much in the end, but I just thought it would be odd considering that it would be hiragana in-game. platinatina 00:57, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kanji is used in PS365, and likely in the anime in closed captions.--Den Zen 09:05, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

New Info?

I have a observation regarding the moves of Crasher Wake's Pokemon on Platinum. Through using several different parties of trying to beat Wake, I've seen his Gyarados use, not four moves, but five different moves. These moves were: Brine, Waterfall, Bite, Twister, AND THRASH. I'm assuming this happens with other important characters' Pokemon too. Has any other individual seen this happen? How could we edit this to make it more accurate? (I made this account specifically for this, and I assume you can only put 4 moves in for editing a Pokemon's moves.)--Totojolt (talk) 00:25, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
