Sapphire (Japanese: サファイア Sapphire) is a character from the Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire manga whose only appearance was in Let's Try To Be Idols!!. She is based on May from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.

Sapphire is a Pokémon Coordinator from Hoenn who introduced herself to Red when he entered the building with his Pokémon. Red takes a liking to her Torchic. Sapphire recommends him to partake in a Pokémon Contest in which Red does. When it was Sapphire turn to perform on stage, she manages to get a perfect score and wins the competition, placing Red in second place.

Torchic is Sapphire's starter Pokémon. She received it from Professor Birch when she was beginning her Pokémon journey. Sapphire chose Torchic as her Contest Pokémon and was up against Red's Clefairy.
