Haxorus (Japanese: オノノクス Ononokus) is a Dragon-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Fraxure starting at level 48. It is the final form of Axew.
Biology
Physiology
Haxorus is a bipedal Pokémon with a darkish yellow-green color covering its back and most of the front, black skin covering its torso, tail tip, and thighs, as well as red talons and claws. It has large black and red scythe like tusks coming out of its upper jaw on the side of its mouth. Haxorus has medium sized eyes with red irises and black pupils. There is ridged plate like skin going up from its back to its head region. It has solid armor and the legs and tail have a dividing line pattern. Haxorus's arms are quite small and divided into three digits with two oval-shaped triceps and biceps and circular elbows. Haxorus's hands are small and circular with small red claws. Its legs are formidable and strong with three toed feet with a red talon on each toe.

Special abilities
Its sturdy tusks are used to cut steel beams. They are so strong that they will never break. In addition to its unbreakable axe tusks, its body is covered in hard armor.
Behavior
They are friendly Pokémon in general, but are very territorial like their pre-evolution Fraxure.

Major appearances
Drayden's Haxorus first appeared in Iris and Excadrill Against the Dragon Buster! and again in Drayden Versus Iris: Past, Present, and Future!.
A Haxorus who belonged to Lauder appeared in BW117 where it caused a rampage in the city due to Colress's machines controlling it at the time. Haxorus returned to normal when one of the machines was destroyed by Angie's Liepard's Shadow Ball.
Minor appearances
Haxorus first appeared in Dreams by the Yard Full! in Axew's dream when it evolved into Fraxure then evolved into this Pokémon.
A Haxorus appeared in Iris's fantasy in The Bloom Is on Axew!.
A real Haxorus appeared in A Village Homecoming! as it was noticed by Iris's Dragonite and had a fight with it.
In the manga
Iris's Fraxure evolved into a Haxorus during a battle with Black in the Pokémon League.

- Haxorus has the highest Attack base stat of all non-legendary Dragon-type Pokémon.
- Haxorus, along with Gyrados, are the only two Pokemon that can be caught in the wild that have a single garunteed chance of being shiny through in-game events. Gyrados at the Lake of Rage in the Johto Region and Nature Preserve in the Unova Region respectively.
Origin
Its tusks are similar in appearance to Scutosaurid's or possibly Ceratopsid's cheekbone tusks and are also similar to battle axe blades. Ken Sugimori confirmed that it was based on a plant-eating dinosaur.
Name origin
Haxorus is a combination of hack (to chop or cut down), axe, and σαῦρος saurus (Greek for lizard).
Ononokus may be a combination of 斧 ono (axe), 戦く ononoku (to tremble), and アックス akkusu (axe).
