Ash and Pikachu try digging their way out as N watches not knowing what to do. Ash calls out Krookodile, Charizard, Oshawott, Pignite, and Snivy to help. The seven continue digging through the dirt while N, moved by everyone working together, goes to help. Krookodile breaks free out of the floor, takes one look at the angry Pokémon surrounding them, and ducks back in as Charizard takes the first step out. Everyone gets out of the hole safely. Team Plasma attack them wanting the Light Stone. Charizard blocks their attacks up until Colress powers up his mind control machine.
Iris calls Ash and tell him to put everyone back in their Pokéballs which he does except for Pikachu who won't go in his ball. Colress's machine laser hits Pikachu, which makes his eyes become red and he growls viciously as electricity sparks from his cheeks. He attacks everyone with a Thunderbolt. Ash approaches him and tries to calm him down only to get zapped. He keeps on trying until he passes out. N, overcome with sadness as he watches Pikachu zap Ash, begs Colress to stop. He makes an offer if Colress leaves Pikachu alone, he'll give Team Plasma the Stone and himself. If they refuse, he'll destroy the Light Stone.
Colress turns off the machine reverting Pikachu back to normal. Realizing what he did, Pikachu lays against Ash shamefully until he wakes up. Team Plasma restrains N as Ghetsis arrives. Ghetsis is about to begin the ceremony to resurrect Reshiram and reveals his plans to control Reshiram with the mind control device. As the ceremony begins, our heroes watch in horror.
As Professor Juniper shouts that the Pokémon are heading their way, his eyebrows are colored the same as his hair.
After Iris warns Ash about Colress's machine, the Poké Ball symbol on Ash's hat changes size, being smaller than usual in the first shot.
As Ghetsis turns around after walking up to the altar for the Awakening Ceremony, his hand is briefly flesh-colored instead of covered by his black glove.
