Draco Meteor (Japanese: りゅうせいぐん Meteor Shower) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Draco Meteor inflicts damage, and lowers the user's Special Attack by two stages.

Description

Games Description Comets are summoned down from the sky. The attack’s recoil sharply reduces the user’s Sp. Atk stat. Comets are summoned down from the sky onto the target. The attack's recoil harshly reduces the user's Sp. Atk stat.

Learnset

By Move Tutor

Draco Meteor can only be tutored to Dragon-type Pokémon (with the exception of Arceus, which can learn it regardless of which Plate it's holding). In the Sinnoh region, the tutor (grandma Wilma) can be found on Route 210 in her house, and in Johto, the tutor is in Blackthorn City. In the Unova region, Iris^B or Drayden^WB2W2 will teach this move at Opelucid City.

Similar to Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon, the Pokémon that the move is to be taught to must have its friendship rating maximized.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, all Dragon-type Pokémon prior to Generation V can learn Draco Meteor at level 72 if it has at least 300 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after level 72, Draco Meteor can be relearned at Electivire Link Shop.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Dragon-type Pokémon can learn Draco Meteor once Paradise reaches Perfect Rank.

• In December 2005, prior to the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, CoroCoro Comics January ran a contest where fans could name the strongest Dragon-type move. Draco Meteor was the move that won this contest.
• This move being classified as a Dragon-type move is likely a play on its original name, りゅうせいぐん Ryūseigun (Meteor Shower), which contains りゅう ryū (dragon).
