Trick-or-Treat (Japanese: ハロウィン Halloween) is a non-damaging Ghost-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist.

Effect

Trick-or-Treat adds Ghost-type damage modifiers to the target, in addition to the Pokémon's original elemental type(s). If it is used against a dual-typed Pokémon, that Pokémon will essentially have three types at once.

Trick-or-Treat will fail if the target Pokémon already possesses a Ghost type.

Description

Games Description
The user takes the target trick-or-treating. This adds Ghost type to the target's type.

Trivia

  • Using Trick-or-Treat on a Psychic-type Pokémon is currently the only way to deal 4x supereffective damage with Ghost or Dark attacks.
    • Additionally, using Trick-or-Treat on a Normal-type Pokémon is currently the only way for a Pokémon to have a sole weakness to the Dark type.
