Ilex Forest is located in Johto, directly west of Azalea.
The only important feature in Ilex is the shrine to {p|Celebi}.
In the Japanese version of Pokémon Crystal, if you placed the GS Ball on the shrine, Celebi would appear at level 30 to battle.
A family in Azalea goes out with their {p|Farfetch'd} to the Ilex Forest for firewood to make Charcoal.
