BW TCG Era merchandise
Collection Sheet Journey Partners
The BW era officially began in Japan on September 18, 2010 with the release of the Collection Sheet Journey Partners (Japanese: コレクションシート 旅立ちの仲間). This collection consists of three sets, each focusing on one of the Generation V starter Pokémon: Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. Each set contains three cards, nine available to collect in total, with every type in the TCG at the time represented by a card.

Beginning Set
The first major release of the BW era was the Beginning Set (Japanese: はじめてセット), available from October 29, 2010. Much like the earlier Collection Sheet Journey Partners, the set features three half decks with particular emphasis of the Unova starter Pokémon Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, while all collectively introduce a handful of new Generation V Pokémon. As an introductory product, the Beginning Set includes game essentials such as damage counters, a coin, and play mat, plus a number of play aids. These include a how-to-play booklet and DVD, plus three quick guides for each half deck detailing game flow and specific cards.

Beginning Set for Girls
Released simultaneously with the regular Beginning Set, the Beginning Set for Girls (Japanese: はじめてセット forガール) marks the first TCG product explicitly marketed at a specific gender, with differences in presentation and illustration style on the cards exclusive to the set. Aside from a number of these exclusive cards, the contents remain largely similar to those in the regular Beginning Set: three starter-oriented half decks, damage counters, one coin, one play mat, three quick guides, one how-to-play booklet, and one how-to-play DVD.

Beginning Set DX
Little under a month after the release of the Beginning Set, a deluxe version called the Beginning Set DX (Japanese: はじめてセットDX) was made available on November 20, 2010. The Beginning Set DX contains everything found in the regular Beginning Set, with the addition of a deck case, a set of 32 card sleeves, a sticker sheet, and a notebook. All of these items are also presented in a metal case emblazoned with various Pokémon in action poses.

Beginning Set DX for Girls
The Beginning Set DX for Girls (Japanese: はじめてセットDX forガール), an enhanced version of the regular Beginning Set for Girls, was released at the same time as the Beginning Set DX. Much like its counterpart, a deck case, a set of 32 card sleeves, a sticker sheet, and a notebook were packaged in addition to the contents found in the regular version, all presented in a metal case. The Pokémon featured on the case are drawn in soft pastel shades as opposed to the brightly colored 3D models as featured on the Beginning Set DX case.

Energy Card Official Card Box Reshiram•Zekrom
December 17, 2010 marked the release of Black Collection and White Collection. Available alongside was the Energy Card Official Card Box Reshiram•Zekrom (Japanese: エネルギーカード付きオフィシャルカードボックス レシロム•ゼクロム), which came packaged with five of each type of basic Energy card for a total of 40 cards, as no Energy cards were included in either Black Collection or White Collection. The box itself has enough space for 500 cards, and also comes with three dividers for organization.

Lawson Original Coin Set
The Lawson Original Coin Set (Japanese: ローソンオリジナルコインセット) was sold exclusively in Lawson stores from January 1, 2011. This no frills set includes one Black Collection booster pack, one White Collection booster pack, and one coin featuring Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. The coin comes in either red or green versions, both exclusive to the Lawson Original Coin Set, with silver and pink versions previously available in the Beginning Set and Beginning Set for Girls, respectively.

Cobalion Battle Strength Deck
One of three Battle Strength Decks released on March 18, 2011. The Cobalion Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ コバルオン) focuses on Darkness, Metal, and Colorless Pokémon, particularly the Legendary Iron Will Pokémon Cobalion, which is included as a Cracked Ice Holofoil card. Also included is a "How to Play Easy Guide" and a "Battle Strength Guide" that includes tips for bolstering decks.

Terrakion Battle Strength Deck
Another of the three Battle Strength Decks made available on March 18, 2011 was the Terrakion Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ テラキオン), which features the Legendary Cavern Pokémon Terrakion as a Cracked Ice Holofoil Fighting-type card. In addition to Fighting types, the deck includes Lightning and Psychic-type Pokémon, plus a "How to Play Easy Guide" and a "Battle Strength Guide".

Virizion Battle Strength Deck
Rounding off the trio of Swords of Justice-themed half decks, the Virizion Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ ビリジオン) was also released on March 18, 2011. The Legendary Grassland Pokémon Virizion is the central card, along with other Grass-types, as well as Fire and Water-type Pokémon. As with the other Battle Strength Decks, a "How to Play Easy Guide" and a "Battle Strength Guide" are included.

Mini Card File Set Throh Version
Released on April 22, 2011 as one of two special packs, the Mini Card File Set Throh Version (Japanese: ミニカードファイルセット ナゲキver.) is one of the first BW era products to continue the trend of packaging a promotional card with multiple booster packs. The featured card in this instance is the Judo Pokémon Throh. Also packaged are two Black Collection booster packs, two White Collection booster packs, and a mini card file with twenty pages to store cards.

Mini Card File Set Sawk Version
Also released on April 22, 2011 was the Mini Card File Set Sawk Version (Japanese: ミニカードファイルセット ダゲキver.), which features the Karate Pokémon Sawk as the included promotional card. Similarly to its counterpart, this special pack contains two booster packs from Black Collection, two from White Collection, plus the same mini card file for storage of up to 40 cards.

Battle Theme Deck: Victini
The Battle Theme Deck: Victini (Japanese: バトルテーマデッキ ビクティニ) was released on June 17, 2011, and features the Victory Pokémon Victini as both a Fire-type and Psychic-type card. These two cards form the basis of the two decks in the set, with the Fire type Victini included in the Victini Formation Deck, and the Psychic type Victini included as part of the Victini Coin Flip Deck. The two decks each have 10 exclusive cards, with the remaining 20 to be used with either to form a half deck. The set also comes packaged with a Victini coin and deck building guide book.

Movie Commemoration Value Set 7-Eleven•Pokémon Center Version
In celebration of the dual theatrical release of Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom and Victini and the White Hero: Reshiram, a total of four value sets were made available in two primary versions. The first pair of sets, Movie Commemoration Value Set B 7-Eleven•Pokémon Center Version (Japanese: 映画公開記念 バリューセットB セブン-イレブン•ポケモンセンターver.) and Movie Commemoration Value Set W 7-Eleven•Pokémon Center Version (Japanese: 映画公開記念 バリューセットW セブン-イレブン•ポケモンセンターver.), were released on July 15, 2011 exclusively in 7-Eleven stores and Pokémon Centers. Both are packaged with a promotional Klinklang card and one Red Collection booster pack, while the remaining contents differ. The B set contains an additional Black Collection booster pack and Bisharp-themed deck case, while the W set contains an additional White Collection booster pack and a themed deck case featuring Victini, Reshiram, and Zekrom.

Movie Commemoration Value Set
Released on July 16, 2011 in conjunction with the movie premieres of Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom and Victini and the White Hero: Reshiram, the second pair of commemorative value sets received no limited store release. The Movie Commemoration Value Set B (Japanese: 映画公開記念 バリューセットB) contains one Black Collection booster pack, one Red Collection booster pack, and a themed deck case featuring Reshiram and Zekrom. The Movie Commemoration Value Set W (Japanese: 映画公開記念 バリューセットW) contains one White Collection booster pack, one Red Collection booster pack, and a Victini-themed deck case. Both of these value sets were also packaged with a Golurk promotional card.

Special Trunk Set Reshiram
Also released on July 15, 2011 was the Special Trunk Set Reshiram (Japanese: スペシャルトランクセット レシラム), a trunk case with a Reshiram design and enough storage space for at least 360 cards. Packaged with the case was a Tinsel Holofoil Reshiram promotional card, a reprint of the one from Black Collection, plus two booster packs each from Black Collection, White Collection, and Red Collection.

Special Trunk Set Zekrom
Released alongside the Special Trunk Set Reshiram was the Special Trunk Set Zekrom (Japanese: スペシャルトランクセット ゼクロム), featuring the same style case albeit with a Zekrom design. The case also contained a promotional Tinsel Holofoil reprint of Zekrom, plus two Black Collection booster packs, two White Collection booster packs, and two Red Collection booster packs.

Beginning Set +
Another version of the primary Beginning Set was made available on August 5, 2011. The Beginning Set + (Japanese: はじめてセット+ (プラス)) shares many similarities with its original counterpart in terms of content, but includes differently constructed half decks. The main focus of the set is the inclusion of the Nintendo DS game Pokémon Card Game: How to Play DS, which teaches players the fundamentals of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The game remains exclusive to Japan, and marks the first TCG console-based game since Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR! released in 2001.

Pokémon Card Game 15th Anniversary Premium Set
Released exclusively via Pokémon Centers on October 20, 2011, the Pokémon Card Game 15th Anniversary Premium Set (Japanese: ポケモンカードゲーム 15周年プレミアムセット) commemorates fifteen years of the TCG in Japan since the first set was released on October 20, 1996. This special set features Full Art versions of Reshiram and Zekrom from Black Collection and White Collection with an embossed gold foil "15th Anniversary" stamp. Also included are two sets of 65 card sleeves and special coin emblazoned with "The 15th Anniversary Limited Edition", a set of acrylic damage and status counters, and two play mats.

Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck
Following the debut of Pokémon-EX in Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard, the Legendary Vast White Pokémon Reshiram was featured as a Pokémon-EX in the Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ60「レシラムEX」), released on October 21, 2011. Unlike previous Battle Strength Decks, the Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck has 60 cards, principally featuring Fire and Water-type Pokémon. The deck also includes damage counters, status counters, a coin, a play mat, and a manual entitled "Battle Strength Guide 'Black'", which includes deck improvement ideas.

Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Deck
The Legendary Deep Black Pokémon Zekrom also debuts as a Pokémon-EX in the Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ60「ゼクロムEX」), released alongside the Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck on October 21, 2011. The 60-card deck features mostly Grass and Lightning-type Pokémon, and includes the standard game rudiments such as damage counters, status counters, coin, and play mat. A similar manual, called the "Battle Strength Guide 'White'" is also included.

The Beginning Set DX Pikachu Version (Japanese: はじめてセットDX ピカチュウver.) is the final variant of the original Beginning Set and was released on November 18, 2011. As with all previous iterations of the Beginning Set, the Pikachu Version has three half decks based on the Generation V starter Pokémon Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott, all of which contain the same cards as those found in the Beginning Set +. A special Pikachu promotional card is also included. The set contains a multitude of other items: damage counters, a coin, a play mat, three quick guides, a how-to-play booklet, a how-to-play DVD, a deck case, a set of 32 card sleeves, a sticker sheet, a notebook, and a damage counter case.

Battle Gift Set: Thundurus vs Tornadus
The Battle Gift Set: Thundurus vs Tornadus (Japanese: バトルギフトセット「ボルトロスVSトルネロス」), another item of merchandise released on November 18, 2011, centers around the Forces of Nature. The Bolt Strike Pokémon Thundurus and the Cyclone Pokémon Tornadus are both featured in eponymous half decks, and the Abundance Pokémon Landorus is featured as a Full Art BW-P Promotional card. The set includes three other promotional cards–Reshiram, Zekrom, and Victini–all of which are reprints from the Black, White, and Red Collections respectively. The Battle Gift Set also comes with a deck box, damage counters, a carrying case, a coin, and a playmat.

Sold exclusively in 7-Eleven stores, the Dark Rush Campaign Pack 7-Eleven Original (Japanese: ダークラッシュ キャンペーンパックセブン-イレブン オリジナル) was another item released in conjunction with the Dark Rush expansion on December 16, 2011. As with the regular Dark Rush Campaign Pack, this version includes four Dark Rush booster packs. Also included is a promotional card of the Tricky Fox Pokémon Zorua.

The Special Campaign Pack Zoroark (Japanese: スペシャルキャンペーンパック ゾロアーク) was released on December 16, 2011, along with a number of other items of merchandise. Amongst the merchandise released on December 16, 2011 was the Special Campaign Pack Victini (Japanese: スペシャルキャンペーンパックビクティニ). This pack includes a promotional Excadrill card, a two-player mat with a 2012 calendar featuring Rehiram, Zekrom, and Victini on the reverse. Energy Card Official Card Box Cool
The final item released in conjunction with the Dark Rush expansion on December 16, 2011 was the Energy Card Official Card Box Cool (Japanese: エネルギーカード付きオフィシャルカードボックス cool). The box features a colorful design with numerous Pokémon, and comes packaged with 40 basic Energy cards, five of each type available, and three dividers for organizing cards. Approximately 500 cards can be stored in the box, or around 250 if they are in card sleeves.

Dark Rush Lawson Original Coin Set
A limited release in Lawson stores on December 23, 2011, the Dark Rush Lawson Original Coin Set (Japanese: ダークラッシュ ローソンオリジナルコインセット) comes in two varieties: one with a red Reshiram coin, and one with a blue Zekrom coin. The coins originate from the Reshiram-EX and Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Decks, which are colored gold. Both varieties also come packaged with two Dark Rush booster packs.

Keldeo Battle Strength Deck
With the official announcement of the Colt Pokémon Keldeo in February 2012, the standalone Keldeo Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ30 ケルディオ) was released on April 20, 2012, marking its Japanese TCG debut. The half deck focuses on Water, Darkness, and Metal-type Pokémon, and features three cards with a unique Holofoil treatment. Like previous Battle Strength Decks, a "How to Play Easy Guide" and a "Battle Strength Guide" are included.

National Pokédex Beginning Set
Another item released on April 20, 2012 was the National Pokédex Beginning Set (Japanese: はじめてセット 全国図鑑版セット). It is similar in many respects to the original Beginning Set, but features pre-Generation V Pokémon in the packaged half decks. The box features Black Kyurem and White Kyurem following their appearance in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, and has enough storage space for up to 500 cards.

Movie Commemoration Black Kyurem•White Kyurem Set
To mark the release of Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice in cinemas, the Movie Commemoration Black Kyurem•White Kyurem Set (Japanese: 映画公開記念 ブラックキュレム•ホワイトキュレムセット) was made available on July 13, 2012. The set includes a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil Cobalion promotional card, one Freeze Bolt booster pack, one Cold Flare booster pack, one Dark Rush booster pack, one Red Collection booster pack, and an application form for a campaign in which people could win a variety of booster boxes or decks. A special version of this set, called Aeon Limited Privilege Basic Energy Card (Japanese: イオン限定特典 基本エネルギーカード), was also sold exclusively in Aeon stores. This version includes the same items as the regular version plus three Mirror Reverse Holofoil cards: Fire Energy, Water Energy, and Lightning Energy. These cards, marked "BW-P" with no number, were initially only available in this set until all basic Energy cards marked as such were made available as part of the Pokémon Card Game Trade Station campaign in early January 2013.

Special Campaign Pack Kyurem 7-Eleven•Pokémon Center Version
Also released on July 13, 2012 was the Special Campaign Pack Kyurem 7-Eleven•Pokémon Center Version (Japanese: スペシャルキャンペーンパック キュレム セブン-イレブン•ポケモンセンターver.), which could only be obtained at participating 7-Eleven stores and at Pokémon Centers. The pack contains a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil Virizion promotional card, one Freeze Bolt booster pack, one Cold Flare booster pack, one Hail Blizzard booster pack, and an application form for the booster box/deck campaign. The pack also includes a special card stand designed to hold the three Swords of Justice cards available in the fifteenth movie-related TCG merchandise.

Movie Commemoration Black Kyurem•White Kyurem Set Theater•Pokémon Center Version
Released on July 14, 2012, the opening day of Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice, was the Movie Commemoration Black Kyurem•White Kyurem Set Theater•Pokémon Center Version (Japanese: 映画公開記念 ブラックキュレム•ホワイトキュレムセット 劇場•ポケモンセンターver.). This set includes the same assortment of booster packs as the regular version first available the previous day, as well as the application form for the booster box/deck campaign, but includes a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil Terrakion promotional card instead, rounding off the senior members of the Swords of Justice. Unlike the regular version, this set could only be purchased at participating cinemas showing Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice and at Pokémon Centers.

The Premium Holo Card Special Pack Reshiram (Japanese: プレミアムキラカード付きスペシャルパック レシラム) was one of two special packs released on August 3, 2012. The pack features a Full Art version of Reshiram-EX, the regular version of which was originally released in the Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck. The pack also contains one Dragon Blade booster pack, three Dark Rush booster packs, one Psycho Drive booster pack, three Red Collection booster packs, and an application form for a campaign in which people could win a variety of booster boxes or decks.

Premium Holo Card Special Pack Zekrom
The second of two special packs released on August 3, 2012 was the Premium Holo Card Special Pack Zekrom (Japanese: プレミアムキラカード付きスペシャルパック ゼクロム). This pack features a promotional Full Art version of Zekrom-EX, originally released as a regular card in the Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Deck. The pack contains a similar assortment of booster packs as the Reshiram pack: one from Dragon Blast, three from Dark Rush, one from Hail Blizzard, and three from Red Collection. An application form for the same booster box/deck campaign was also included.

Team Plasma's Powered Half Deck
The Team Plasma's Powered Half Deck (Japanese: プラズマ団パワードデッキ30) complements the Plasma Gale expansion, released on September 14, 2012. The half deck predominantly includes and
types, a number of which are Team Plasma Pokémon, with particular focus on the Gear Pokémon Klingklang. Team Plasma researcher Colress is also featured among the supporting Trainer cards.

Master Deck Build Box EX
Also released on September 14, 2012 was the Master Deck Build Box EX (Japanese: マスターデッキビルドBOX EX), a special set containing reprints of popular cards from the BW era, with Mewtwo-EX, Rayquaza-EX, and Darkrai-EX featured on the box art. Also included is a Master Deck Build Book, which documents particular cards and competitive deck building techniques, as well as a long card box for storage.

Black Kyurem-EX Battle Strength Deck
Similarly to the earlier Reshiram-EX and Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Decks, the Black Kyurem-EX Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ60 ブラックキュレムEX) is one of two 60-card decks released on October 19, 2012 to feature Pokémon-EX. The eponymous Black Kyurem and Zapdos are the central Pokémon, with the deck including primarily Water and Lightning-types. It also comes with damage counters, status counters, a coin, a play mat, and a special manual with deck development ideas.

Available with the Black Kyurem-EX Battle Strength Deck from October 19, 2012 was the White Kyurem-EX Battle Strength Deck (Japanese: バトル強化デッキ60 ホワイトキュレムEX). Like the aforementioned deck, this item also includes two Pokémon-EX: White Kyurem and Moltres, along with a number of regular Pokémon, which consist mainly of Fire and Water-types. The deck comes with damage counters, status counters, a coin, a play mat, and a special deck ideas manual.

As part of the 2012 Pokémon Center Eevee Collection campaign, Pokémon Centers across Japan made many themed items of merchandise featuring Eevee and its evolutions available. One of these was the File Collection Eevee Collection (Japanese: コレクションファイル イーブイコレクション) released on November 23, 2012, which consists of a card file with a nine-pocket page containing promotional prints of Eevee and each of its evolutions. Each of these cards feature artwork by The Pokémon Company Art-team and are consistent with the illustrations featured on many of the other Eevee Collection items. A placeholder card of the promotional Pokémon Center card available during the upcoming Spiral Force•Thunder Knuckle booster pack promotion is also present. The file also contains two sticker sheets designed to decorate and organize the file.

Spiral Force Thunder Knuckle Campaign Pack
Released in conjunction with Spiral Force•Thunder Knuckle on December 14, 2012 was the Spiral Force Thunder Knuckle Campaign Pack (Japanese: ラセンフォース•ライデンナックル キャンペーンパック). This pack contains a promotional Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil card featuring the Regal Pokémon Serperior, plus two Spiral Force booster packs and two Thunder Knuckle booster packs.

Expansion Pack Team Plasma Set
The Expansion Pack Team Plasma Set (Japanese: 拡張パック プラズマ団セット) received a limited release in December 2012 and was only available at Aeon stores. This pack contains four booster packs: two from Plasma Gale, one from Spiral Force, and one from Thunder Knuckle. The set also comes packaged with a coin featuring the Team Plasma logo.

Team Plasma Battle Gift Set
Released on November 16, 2012, the Team Plasma Battle Gift Set (Japanese: プラズマ団バトルギフトセット) features an array of Team Plasma Pokémon and supporting cards, with particular emphasis on the Renegade Pokémon Giratina and the Pitch-Black Pokémon Darkrai, which are included as Full Art cards. As with the previous Battle Gift Set, the featured cards are part of a half deck as opposed to a handful of promotional cards. The set comes with game essentials for any player: damage and status counters, plus a Team Plasma-themed coin, deck box, and card sleeves.

Everyone's Exciting Battle
Designed to support gameplay for up to four players, the Everyone's Exciting Battle box set was made available on November 16, 2012. The set includes eight 15-card quarter decks, each one focusing on one type, plus game essentials. These include: two sets of damage and status counters, two play mats, two coins, along with a set of rules. The set also invites players to mix up their battles by including character cards that alter the standard game rules.

Blastoise + Kyurem-EX Combo Deck
Released on March 15, 2013, the same day as the Megalo Cannon expansion, was the Blastoise + Kyurem-EX Combo Deck (Japanese: 最強爆流コンボデッキ60 カメックス+キュレムEX ). This 60-card deck features the Shellfish Pokémon Blastoise and the Boundary Pokémon Kyurem as a Pokémon-EX card, plus a number of other Water-type Pokémon. It also comes with damage counters, status counters, a coin, and play mat.

Holo Card Special Pack Black Kyurem
The Holo Card Special Pack Black Kyurem (Japanese: キラカード付きスペシャルパック ブラックキュレム) was one of three special packs released on April 19, 2013. The pack features a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil Black Kyurem promotional card, first released in English for the Boundaries Crossed expansion, plus an assortment of booster packs from across the BW era. These include one from Plasma Gale, one from Freeze Bolt, one from Dragon Blade, two from Dark Rush, one from Psycho Drive, and two from Red Collection.

Released in tandem with two other packs on April 19, 2013, the Holo Card Special Pack White Kyurem (Japanese: キラカード付きスペシャルパック ホワイトキュレム) features a promotional White Kyurem card with a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil treatment. Like Black Kyurem, this card was first released in English and appeared in the Boundaries Crossed expansion. In addition to the promotional card, the pack contains one Plasma Gale booster pack, one Cold Flare booster pack, one Dragon Blast booster pack, two Dark Rush booster packs, one Psycho Drive booster pack, and two Red Collection booster packs.

Holo Card Special Pack N
The third special pack to be released on April 19, 2013 was the Holo Card Special Pack N (Japanese: キラカード付きスペシャルパック N(エヌ)), featuring a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil print of N with artwork from Black, White, Black 2, and White 2. The pack, like the other two, contains a mixture of BW era expansion booster packs: one from Plasma Gale, one from Cold Flare, one from Freeze Bolt, one from Dragon Blast, one from Dark Rush, one from Hail Blizzard, and two from Red Collection.

Pokémon Center 15th Anniversary Premium Card Set
Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the opening of the first Pokémon Center in Japan, the Pokémon Center 15th Anniversary Premium Card Set (Japanese: ポケモンセンター15周年 カードプレミアムセット) was released on June 8, 2013. This special set includes a Full Art print of Pikachu with artwork by 5ban Graphics, the regular version of which appeared as an Ultra Rare card in Black Collection and White Collection. In addition to the promotional card is a set of acrylic damage counters, including two that display 100 damage–a first for the TCG, a damage counter case, a deck case, and a set of 62 card sleeves. The cases and sleeves all feature the same Pikachu artwork as the one used on the promotional card.

Mewtwo vs Genesect Deck Kit
One of many items released on July 13, 2013 was the Mewtwo vs Genesect Deck Kit (Japanese: 30枚デッキ対戦set ミュウツーVSゲノセクト). Featured are the Genetic Pokémon Mewtwo and the Paleozoic Pokémon Genesect as Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil cards, both of which have major roles in the sixteenth movie. The Mewtwo Half Deck includes purely Psychic Pokémon, while the Genesect Half Deck includes purely Grass Pokémon. The kit as a whole also comes with a play guide, damage counters, status counters, a coin, and a play mat.

In conjunction with the combined release of Genesect and the Legend Awakened in cinemas, EX Battle Boost, and the Mewtwo vs Genesect Deck Kit on July 13, 2013, three special packs were made available. The first was the EX Battle Boost Campaign Pack (Japanese: EXバトルブースト キャンペーンパック), which included a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil promotional card featuring the Red Genesect portrayed in the sixteenth movie, as well as four EX Battle Boost packs.

The second special pack released on July 13, 2013 was the Movie Commemoration Genesect Set <Theater•Pokémon Center> (Japanese: 映画公開記念 ゲノセクトセット<劇場•ポケモンセンター>), which contained another Shiny Genesect promotional card with a Cracked Ice Reverse Holofoil treatment. The pack also contained two Megalo Cannon booster packs and two EX Battle Boost booster packs. This pack could only be purchased at participating cinemas showing Genesect and the Legend Awakened and at Pokémon Centers.

The Genesect Deck Shield Set <Seven & I•Pokémon Center Limited> (Japanese: ゲノセクトデッキシールドセット<セブン&アイ•ポケモンセンター限定>) was the third special pack to be released on July 13, 2013, and was only available to purchase at Pokémon Centers and stores such as 7-Eleven and Ito-Yokado. The pack contains one Megalo Cannon booster pack, one EX Battle Boost booster pack, and a set of 32 card sleeves featuring the Red Genesect portrayed in the sixteenth movie.
