Wales Island (Japanese: ウェルズ島 Wells Island) is an anime-exclusive location located in Hoenn, visited in the episode Where's Armaldo?. It is located somewhere between Mossdeep City and Sootopolis City.

Although it appears to be a deserted island, it is actually home to Professor Proctor and his wife, Annie. Together, they resurrected several Fossil Pokémon. Initially, the Professor hoped to invite people from all around the Pokémon world to the island so they could see the Pokémon. However, after an Armaldo went on a rampage, the couple decided to leave the island as is. They promised Ash and his friends that they would keep the island a secret, and work hard to make sure the Pokémon would be safe.

• It is peculiar that even though it was on the map and a large city is located on the island, Professor Proctor wanted them to keep it a secret.
• It should be noted that there is a country in the United Kingdom that is called Wales. Many fossils have been found on Wales, which may explain the island's name.
