The Pokémon Wiki, formerly known as The Pokémon Encyclopedia, is a Pokémon-centered wiki hosted on the website Wikia.
History
The Pokémon Wiki was created in January 2005 by Jellochuu, who is no longer an active member of the wiki. The wiki's current bureaucrat is Slayingthehalcyon, who stayed when the wikis forked.
Over the course of its history, the wiki has gone through a number of logo changes and a name change. It currently has over 6,000 articles on various aspects of the Pokémon franchise.
After a bit of discussion, the Pokémon Wiki officially split, having many users leave Wikia to create a new wiki under Curse servers in association with Marriland, under the name of Marriland Wiki, while other users stayed on the Wikia wiki. This fork lead to another Pokémon-centered wiki being formed. With the new wiki, users decided to either stay on the Wikia hosted wiki or move to the Marriland Wiki, however some of the administrators are editing both wikis for the time being.
