Frenzy Plant (Japanese: ハードプラント Hard Plant) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Frenzy Plant inflicts damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless this attack misses, the user will always have to recharge.

Description

By Move Tutor

Various Move Tutors will teach Frenzy Plant to the fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon if their friendship rating is maximized:

• In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, an elderly woman on Cape Brink will teach Frenzy Plant to Venusaur only.
• In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, an elderly man appears on Route 228 in the Battle Zone, and will teach the move to all four fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon.
• In HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Move Tutor for Frenzy Plant can be found in the Move Deleter/Move Reminder's house in Blackthorn City.
• In Black and White, the Move Tutor that can teach Frenzy Plant appears in a house on Route 13, and will teach it to all five fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon.
• In Black 2 and White 2, the Move Tutor that can teach Frenzy Plant appears outside the Pokémon World Tournament building, and will teach it to all five fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon.
• In X and Y, the Move Tutor that can teach Frenzy Plant appears in a house at Snowbelle City, and will teach it to all six fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon.
• In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Move Tutor is located in Mauville City, and will teach it to all six fully evolved Grass-type starter Pokémon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Venusaur can learn Frenzy Plant at level 99 if it has at least 333 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after reaching level 99, Frenzy Plant can be relearned at the Gulpin Link Shop.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, and Torterra can learn Frenzy Plant at level 72 if it has at least 300 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after level 72, Frenzy Plant can be relearned at Electivire Link Shop.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Snivy can learn Frenzy Plant once Paradise reaches Perfect Rank.

The beams twist around each other as they fire at the opponent. Eventually, the energy around the beams fade into two giant roots with large thorns on them, or two powerful and large vines come out of underneath the leaves on Venusaur's back and hit the opponent.
