Release information
This card was first printed in the English Boundaries Crossed expansion, originating from the Japanese Cold Flare expansion, with artwork by Satoshi Shirai. A Non Holofoil variant was included in the Ice Shock Theme Deck. It was reprinted in the English Plasma Storm expansion with different artwork by Ayaka Yoshida as an Ultra-Rare Secret card, originating from the Japanese Plasma Gale expansion. It received new artwork by Satoshi Shirai when released in the English Plasma Blast expansion, originating from the Japanese Blastoise + Kyurem-EX Combo Deck, with a Non Holofoil version included with the expansion's Solar Strike Theme Deck.
A Cosmos Holofoil version of the Plasma Blast print was included in XY Two Pack Blisters, released on February 5, 2014. This print erroneously lists the copyright as ©2012, even though the Plasma Blast expansion was released in 2013 and the Blister Packs in 2014.

Hydro Pump is a move in the Pokémon games that Blastoise can learn. This card's Boundaries Crossed and Plasma Blast Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. The Plasma Storm print features the Shiny version of Blastoise.
