Release information
Tropical Beach was released at both Worlds 2011 and Worlds 2012. Featured in the Worlds 2011 artwork are Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, the starters for the games most recently released during Worlds 2011: Pokémon Black and White. The artwork for the 2012 print features Pikachu, Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear dancing on a stage.
For the primary iteration of this card, a nine-card commemorative collection was given to participating players at the start of the tournament. The collection consists of seven prints of Tropical Beach in English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, and with the case of the 2011 Worlds Championships, two special cards advertising the date and venue for the following World Championships. The 2012 release did not include the location of the 2013 Championships. Special stamped versions of the English print were also awarded to staff who helped oversee the event and to the top-ranking players in each division of the tournament. All Worlds 2011 and Worlds 2012 prints of this card are numbered BW28 and BW50, respectively. The only prints to differ are the Japanese prints, both of which are unnumbered BW-P Promotional cards.

Trivia
Two copies of each of the top-ranking versions were awarded to respective players across the three divisions making a total of 192 top thirty-two versions, 96 top sixteen versions, 48 quarter-finalist versions, 24 semi-finalist versions, and 12 finalist versions at each tournament. For the first time at Worlds 2012, a champion version was also produced. Two copies were awarded to those who placed first in each division, making a total of six.
Tropical Beach was banned from competitive play in Japan in 2013. TCG fans agree the likely reason for banning was its difficulty to obtain combined with the fact that the card is competitively viable.
