Talk:Ash's Heracross
Megahorn in Sappy ending?
Any proof of this? I don't recall Ash's Heracross doing Megahorn until the Silver Conference.
It never used Megahorn in A Sappy Ending, it first used it in the Silver Conference.
Triva.
I noticed that it said Heracross is one of the two unique type combinations alongside Gliscor. Shouldn`t Torterra be included. There`s no other Grass-Ground Pokémon except Torterra. I`m going to fix it right now. If there`s any problem with this, remove it.LucarioWolf 13:18, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
DP 189, Heracross is the 4th pokemon to use Hyper Beam... other 3 being Kingler, Snorlax and Donphan... Chomi 09:55, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Male
Wait it was confirmed to be male? When?RBK 06:18, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- It seems that someone was using gender differences to determine the gender of a Pokémon which was introduced before generation IV, and has not evolved since the start of gen IV. Again. Removed. Thanks for pointing it out. Werdnae (talk) 06:33, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Surely due to gender differences Heracross should be Male and if they were to reveal that if they made it female that won't be right. If the writers of the anime wanted Heracross to be female they would change its appearance so I think we can change it to Male. User Ratchet and Clank 1995
- Heracross was introduced at a time when there were no gender differences. They're unlikely to just flat out change an existing Pokémon just because, but they get a chance to when one evolves. So unless Pokémon which debuted before DP001 have been first seen after an evolution in DP001 or later then we can't use gender differences as a reliable means of determining gender. I also know that Kenji-Girl, the leader of project anime, is iffy about using the gender differences to determine gender if the individual in question exhibits the trait which all members of that species were before gen IV. If, for example, they had decided to make Ash's Pikachu female, they couldn't really just suddenly change the shape of Pikachu's tail, especially given that it had become rather prominent with Iron Tail. It'd likely be the same for his other Pokémon. Werdnae (talk) 19:41, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
New Combo
Shouldn't the horn attack mega horn combo go under moves improvised?RBK 22:50, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not every two attacks combining means that it's a new combo. It's juz a on-the-spot technique to defeat the opponent. If this goes to the moves improvised section, MANY of the characters' Pokémon will have it. --Ruixiang95 22:54, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
and besides they're both horn based moves
theres barely any difference unlike a flare blitz dig combo Ataro 22:55, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Ya but he used it to stop krikitune's sing attack which makes it like an improvised move in my opinion. If he just used it as an attack id get it but then he wouldn't have stuck his horn in the ground ad lifted krikatune causing the flashing light, he would of just hit it like a normal attack.RBK 23:02, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
So how come pikachu's volt tail and buizel's aqua pulse are counted? they are just one time techiques used to defeat a opponent. This is an improvised move because it used it to stop sing.RBK 23:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Heracross's Ability
Wasn't Ash's Heracross using an ability known as Swarm? In some instances as in when it battled Spencer's Venasaur, Heracross's Megahorn was very powerful and gave heavy damage to it's foes. Also, Ash commanded the beetle Pokémon to use the move during his sinnoh league battle against Nando's Kricketune (despite Horn Attack being used beforehand). Pattyman 04:51, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
The Old Family Blend mixup
I'm getting sick of having to correct it. If you actually watch the episode, you'll see that Ash returns Snorlax into the Poké Ball in his right hand, and then looks in surprise at the Poké Ball in his left, saying he didn't request that one. Therefore it can't possibly have been Snorlax that was sent. Follow this up with the scene where Barry is attacked by an unknown Pokémon, which isn't revealed to the viewer until Ash finds her, it is undisputable that Bayleef was sent instead of Heracross. Consider their personalities also - Bayleef misses Ash terribly, wheras Heracross is easily distracted and Snorlax very lazy. I doubt very much that Snorlax or Cyndaquil would be likely to get themselves transferred to Ash over Bayleef. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 01:35, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Gender
His horn is male --Altruis 12:19, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- See "Male" discussion above. Because Ash captured Heracross before gender-differences were introduced, this is not a reliable way of determining gender. Crystal Talian 12:38, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
