Hi there!
The Archives are OPEN
Seriously guys, it's pretty dark and lonely here :'(

Have you considered uploading Generation V sprites? Bulbapedia is still missing quite a few of them.
Check out Project Sidegames. If you own these games, please help improve this neglected section of the wiki!
Project Battrio. Battrio needs your love too! Help Umeko out. Most neglected project ever.
Project Manga. Do you read anything besides Adventures? We have quite a few lonely manga articles as well.

Sayda Island

Well, you know it's bad to edit a page a bunch of times in a row, so that's good. But in case you didn't know, there's a "show preview" button on the editing page. You can use it to see what your edits will look like when the page is published. This allows you to make the right edit the first time. Virtual-Z 06:37, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

It was an honest mistake, as I always use the preview button. But thanks for informing me anyway. Jello 06:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

A request on how to add pictures, from Steph

Which sources do you use to extract pictures from? I could try and use the same sources. When onw cannot download something, or when the Print option is not available, would using Ctrl+Prt Scr SysRq (not sure of the official name) and then transferring it to a Paint file with appropriate trimming if needed and saving as .png work? Steph 04:25, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't really have a specific source right now; I just Google search the episode. For the Original series it's a bit hard to find good quality videos, and the best ones I could find were about 175MB in size and in .avi format. In regards to the point you made about the Print Screen option not being available, that's really not the case, it's just that I had to download a separate codec for that in order to Print Screen the shot, otherwise it would show up as black when I would paste it. You shouldn't have to worry about that if you're working on more recent episodes. If you find high quality Youtube videos and are able to 'Print Screen' it, that should work, but to get the best quality you're better off downloading it yourself. Also, Paint is not a file, but a program if you're running Windows. Sorry if I had confused you. Jello 05:08, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Question

Do you have an AIM account? MaverickNate 15:58, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Nope, sorry, I don't use AIM. I do have an MSN account though. Jello 16:45, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, Okay then MaverickNate 16:52, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

OD Sprites

I know I haven't said anything about these, but thanks so much on the overworld sprites! They are of great value to us here! ht14 22:06, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

No problem, the ones on your page are done now. Jello 23:51, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Do you want me to leave my Trainer page up for your referencing? You don't seem to be using it anymore... if so, I'll update it. ht14 23:12, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

I was just using it a while ago, but I don't feel like uploading the shiny OD sprites right now(seems kind of pointless), so that's why I moved on to other regular OD sprites, which aren't on your page yet. But yeah, keep it up. It's really helpful. Jello 23:17, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello!

Hey! How are you doing?
Thanks for checking on my work! I'm new here, so I'm still learning (having a hard time, lol).
I know I'm not perfect in my edits and I'm looking forward on getting better soon. Is there any page I should refer to?
~Thanks again! Stalking FTW!! ^^' -- Saito FX 20:32, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

User Page

Well I'm sorry, but I did not see your user page until today, so I didn't know you had this design and created it. --HoennMaster 09:27, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I was trying to leave you a longer message but the site was glitching. Anyway, again I did not know that you created this design nor did I see you and PsychicRider talking about it. I actually intended to give credit for the page but the site was being glitchy and that version of the final design did not go through. I know you wanted a unique User Page, but I really hope you won't mind me using it too. Three people out of hundreds of users still makes it somewhat unique. Plus, I'm planning on add more to the page and I will give you credit and if you want I'll try to change up the page somehow. --HoennMaster 17:34, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Alright, that's fine. I just don't want it spreading, I hope you understand. Just make sure that's made clear on your page before someone else decides to take something from your page. Thanks for understanding. Jello 19:29, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
I understand completely, I never would have done it had I know that. --HoennMaster 19:51, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Alright

Yeah it's alright, though you don't need to # if you don't want to. Virtual-Z 03:33, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Danone cards

I mainspaced your article... Virtual-Z said it was okay. I think it's good enough... we're missing some scans but we have all of the info. Hope you don't mind ^^' --ZestyCactus 06:53, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

No problem, and thanks, hopefully someone can get the other scans. Jello 06:54, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
I figured if it's in the mainspace there's a greater chance of someone seeing it and going "hey, I have those!" and scanning more. :P --ZestyCactus 06:57, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Whoops

Whoops, sorry, I don't usually edit those sections, so I didn't know how to do the footer (actually, I thought it already had a footer, lol). Thanks and sorry for fixing my dumb mistake. Littlmiget123 19:57, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

No problem. Don't worry about it, it happens. :D Jello 00:03, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

A Favour :)

Hey Jello, I need a favor from you. The thing is that I noticed that so many users have a fancy/beautiful user page because of cool templates and all that stuff. But I don't know much about these things (template and all that stuff). So, can you please help me in creating a new + cool user page? I don't want the exact same as your's or someone else'. It should be different/new and I am asking it from you because you seems to be an expert to me in this thing. If you don't have much time or can't create it due to some personal issues then I can totally understand. But I'll be so happy if you can create one for me. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:46, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do, though I'm not really an expert. Send me an email (through the wiki). :D Jello 18:59, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a lot :D Done. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:04, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Re: Gen 5 Art

I don't appreciate the attitude, I was only trying to help and I don't edit the site in-depth to the point I know what the archives are even, so no I didn't check them nor did I know to. There's no need to be rude about it though. Drake Clawfang 22:04, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't trying to be rude. You have to understand that other people have probably gotten to it before even you have. That's what the general attitude everyone here has, where we all seem to think we have found this and that first and are the first to report it, when someone else has probably done the same thing already. It's great that you're being helpful, but we have enough redundancy here as it is . I saw the same thing as you, and I checked to see if it was already uploaded or not. You don't need to call me a dick, I said what was needed to be said in a straight forward manner. I apologize if it offended you. Jello 22:14, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I accept your apology. Other people knowing first, yeah I'm starting to get that. At the time I had reported it, the three pages for the starters still had the "image taken from scan" caption, so I had figured the official images hadn't been found yet or else the captions would have been removed. Drake Clawfang 22:17, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Congrats

Congrats on your archives admin status. --Hmdwgf 10:36, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you so much! Jello 17:42, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

BW Box Art

You said the box art was revealed. Where did you see them? I couldn't find an official source with the box arts, just fan sites not citing sources. I actually hope there is a source, though.--KurowaSan 19:17, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

I posted a link on the talk page but here it is again: [1] Jello 19:19, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh, sorry about bugging you lol. That link on the site is a really shy one. Thanks. I think the box arts should be posted on the games article, shouldn't they?--KurowaSan 19:23, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry about it, it's great that you're making sure the information is confirmed. The box artwork is already uploaded on the Archives, and ready to be added to the articles anytime. Jello 19:27, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Dragon-type section removal

You don't need to post it on both their talk pages...

  • True, but there's no talk page that allows someone to address comments for BOTH articles, and the fact that they're individually listed as "Dragon-type" is an issue for both articles. For as far as I'm aware, the talk pages are for discussing the individual articles, and just because one piece of info is listed on one talk page doesn't mean it's being read on the other. - Nick15 00:22, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
I answered your question on one page, and since they were exactly the same question on both pages, I felt it wasn't needed on the other. Rest assured, this information was confirmed before being put in. If you really feel it's an issue, you can put it back in but it seems redundant. Jello 00:28, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Re: Reshiram and Zekrom

WE DO NOT KNOW THERE OFFICIAL TYPING. Why does everyone just assume that they will be Dragon-type because they were described as "Legendary Dragon Pokemon" like a Pokedex entry would state. We have no official info on their typings so the Dragon-typing should be removed for now. --Yusuke SS 20:21, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Woah there, you don't need to come yelling on my talk page. I actually discussed this with some admins before putting it in. I'm not one to put in crap in articles. Now that the article is in the mainspace AND protected, I can't help you there. If you really think it should be removed please discuss it on the talk page or an admin instead of yelling at one user (who can't do anything about it, now that it's protected). They were described as Dragon Pokémon at the time, and that's all the information we have right now, and it's bound to change. By the way, your signature is in violation of Bulbapedia's policy. It's supposed to reflect your user name in some way, so you might want to fix that. Jello 20:37, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Why not?

You undid an edit I did to my talk page. Why? I'm kinda new to that kind of thing (the introduction thing I edited out). Why is it important? --Mackinz of SoulSilver 05:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

It's in violation of the Talk page policy. Talk page comments, including the welcome template, should not be removed. 梅子 05:02, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh, alright then. I was just confused is all. Thanks for clearing that up, Umeko-san --Mackinz of SoulSilver 05:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

How am I soupposed to archive the welcome--Megamaxxor-- 18:48, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Your talk page isn't even that full, so there is no need for you to archive it right now. It should only be done when a talk page gets increasingly huge. And please, please, please use the preview button before saving (7 edits to my talk page in less than a minute?). If you do ever want to archive, then you move your current talk page to User talk:Megamaxxor/Archive 1 or something similar. Jello 19:30, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Wailord's Overworld Sprite

You told me to come to you if there were any problems with overworld sprites well ni think that Wailord's sprite is just unneccesarily too big.

Ani321OD.png DoTheWave 18:04, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Also if you have time can u get a shiny overworld sprite of Golduck
The Wailord sprite is fine, for bigger sprites we use 64x64 pixels, otherwise the default is 32x32 pixels. And I've uploaded the sprite you asked for. Thanks. Jello 19:23, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Can you upload an overworld sprite of Finneon and Lumineon DoTheWave 15:55, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

I have the right to do editing if some user's are doing false info and you don't no f J is dead so stop fucking with me that she is dead are i will hack this site. - unsigned comment from Unown (talkcontribs)

First of all, yeah you're right everyone has a right to edit whatever the hell they want. But if you're being told repeatedly that you're wrong and it is removed then you need to stop. When you get reverted, the proper thing to do is ask why on the article's talk page, not threaten and harass staff members. Second of all, if this is how you talk to people, then no one is going to take you seriously. I hope you enjoy your ban. Jello 22:56, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Gochi art.

I edited the original scan in Photoshop, but since I can't edit right now (Archives are locked), I figure you could upload it. 8D eqqmnb.jpg --Cubic Question 03:44, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Uh..I won't just editspam anymore.

I've seen something un-added. Should I..add it to the article in question?

Squizzlemarowak 16:56, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, what? Jello 17:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

It was to do with Espeon(Pokémon) I noticed it didn't state that Espeon, along with Umbreon are the ONLY evolved Starter Pokémon in any game. Should I insert that in?

Squizzlemarowak 18:16, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Maybe not on their pages, but on the Starter Pokémon, it should work. Jello 19:27, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Ok then. Squizzlemarowak 20:08, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Conflict

I put The Comment of Espeon sounding like Esprit under the ORGIN OF NAME section. So it Could be a reson for its name and also becasue power of psychis usally corrersponds to spritual powers (hence espeon is a psychic type) so it could be the reason why its a psychic and its name prefix. Just saying. (plz dont be mad im just always this optimistly-theorticly smart) - unsigned comment from Mismagius13 (talkcontribs)

I know what you did. But it's still wrong. Spirit can mean many things, but I highly doubt it has anything to do with Espeon, or having it's name based on that. It's far more likely to be based on ESP as stated in the article. In the future, if something you add gets removed, and you disagree, bring it up on the talk page of the article. (Don't forget to sign your comments with ~~~~) Jello 05:38, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, French pronounciation means that Esprit is pronounced "Es-pree", with the pr as a single sound, so it doesn't sound particularly similar to Espeon at all. Werdnae (talk) 06:06, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Hey

Well, actually, since you clearly have no idea on the subject we were talking about (because blowing your lid off about something you have no clue about is acting really mature, mind), the actual name of the ability has no space in it. Therefore, I was creating a legitimate page and not trying to get around your "safety measures" at all. Second, deleting my page for absolutely no reason was childish and even a little vindictive. I would appreciate if you took the time to learn about the issues first before jumping in on something that is really none of your concern, "Jello". >.> EarthKwake 16:47, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, what? I know perfectly well what's going on thank you very much. I wasn't blowing my lid off, I was trying to explain why we do what we do, though you leaving these arrogant message tells me otherwise about your own maturity. I told you the reason it got deleted, there was no content besides "Lol, hey this is an ability" There is no reason to rush things, when the games come out, or more information is revealed, then more can be added, but for now it can't have it's own article unless you can prove otherwise, by acutally creating something of quality. This is my concern since I am a junior admin, I do think I have a little right to have a say when there is an issue here. Thank you. Jello 16:55, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh, well I'm sorry if there isn't a lot of information on an ability yet to be released, but I would imagine that people would want at least a little information on it. Serebii has all new information on their site for everyone to read, but I guess you would rather have no information than at least a little. And seeing as you were the first to leave arrogant messages on my Talk Page (and taking my other comments off of the Talk Pages of the actual admins involved, hypocrite), I think you don't really have anything much to say. Maybe you should consider minding your own business and get back to making the site better (not that you were doing that before anyway, but...). - unsigned comment from EarthKwake (talkcontribs)

We are not Serebii, we are a wiki. We run a little differently than normal sites. If you don't like it, then you're welcome to go back to Serebii. Right, so you want a page on something that hasn't be released yet? Again, I'll point out we need more than just "This is an ability, this is what we think it does, this is it's Japanese name". Articles are created when there is enough information. This is why we ask that they be created in the userspace first so they're able to be refined. If you think you I left an arrogant message, then I'm sorry, but that was not my intention. I actually replied to you because you seemed like a decent user who perhaps misunderstood something. Again, I didn't remove your comment, I only moved it to the correct place. I don't have anything further to say to you, so yes I would like to mind my own business from now on. Perhaps a junior admin isn't good enough for you. Thank you. Jello 17:36, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

You're right, I guess this isn't like Serebii. Sorry for mistaking this site for one that has relevant information and helpful admins. Perhaps if you did, you wouldn't come second to Serebii in the first place. Sorry for trying to help the site out. - unsigned comment from EarthKwake (talkcontribs)

Look, we're different from a site like Serebii. We need more information to properly create an article for something. We do appreciate your trying to help, but the reasons for removal for what you did were part of our policy. The attitude you keep presenting isn't helping anyone. -Sketch 17:47, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Out of curiosity, if you went to Serebii and looked at some new information, then found out it was wrong, wouldn't you be a little upset? That's why the admins aren't allowing new pages to be immediately mainspaced; we don't want rumormongering, speculation, and false information to fill the pages, because that does a disservice to the people who come here for information. It sucks that you got your page deleted, but right now, all your actions are making you seem immature and selfish.--PhantomJunkie 18:02, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Alert at top of page

I realize you probably aren't the best person to ask right now, but since you're actually online I figured I'd bring it up to you. I think that with the abilities and moves that are being revealed (I made a userspace page for a move earlier today, and plan to make one for another move tomorrow), the alert about making new articles in the userspace should be edited to include moves and abilities, not just Pokémon. I think it would clear up a lot of confusion.--PhantomJunkie 17:55, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey, it's alright, I'll let someone who can edit the site notice know about this. Thank you for the suggestion. Jello 18:07, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Honest Apologies

Hi there. Look, I feel terrible about what happened earlier. I totally overreacted and lashed out at people who weren't even remotely responsible. I definitely understand why the site shouldn't make an article canon on a Pokemon or ability that hasn't been released yet, I was just trying to be helpful. About the terrible comments I posted, I really regret putting you (and the others) through that, and I was really just venting my frustration; I didn't mean any of it. I'll understand if you're still furious with me, but I really hope that you can accept my apology. I really do want to help make this site better, but I think I'll take it in baby steps. :] Yours truly, EarthKwake 22:17, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey, thanks a lot for coming to say this, it really means a lot. I honestly was trying to help you and if my comments were offensive, then I apologize. It takes a great deal to admit that we're wrong, but I thank you for coming this far. Apology accepted and no hard feelings, alright? I know you'll be a great editor, and make great contributions, so good luck with that! See you around. Jello 22:32, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much. :] You actually came off as very sensible and helpful. I hope I'll be able to better the site. ^^ - unsigned comment from EarthKwake (talkcontribs)

No problem, and thanks. The welcome template on your talk page has a quite a few useful links for you, and it should help you out some more. There are also lots of stubs that could use more information, so there's a lot to do here. :D Jello 22:57, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for editing my user page so much, I just trying to figure out this strange Wiki code stuff. --Crimsonnavy 19:59, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

It's okay, nothing in your sandbox was actually helping the mainspace, so it shouldn't have been edited that much. 3 edits a day is the limit. You can use Bulbapedia:Sandbox too if you want to test things. Using the preview button also helps see how your code will turn out, without having to so save it so many times. Jello 20:02, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I'll use the Bulbapedia:Sandbox next time. --Crimsonnavy 20:23, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Ja, sorry.

I would've done the noinclude, but I didn't realize they were actually all included in their entirety on the Arceus page. I figured I wouldn't need to put in the noinclude since they weren't templates, but I understand now how it works... they, like, rotate day to day or something, right? Like, which on is included on Arceus' page? >.> I don't know. But either way, sorry. --P o L i 01:48, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it's alright, but if they're subpages they should have the noinclude either way so the main page doesn't get categorized as subpages. Jellotalk 01:56, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Isshu Regional Pokédex

Since this has been brought up before but not addressed, I thought I would just ask, is there any specific organization to the "As Yet Unnumbered" section of Isshu's regional Pokédex page? I mean, having Reshiram and Zekrom at the bottom makes a lot of sense, giving the legendary trend in previous regional dexes, but some of the other Pokémon seem to have been added rather haphazardly. If there is rhyme and reason to it, then by all means leave it as is, but I do think that other types of organization would be good, such as alphabetical or chronological. Even arranging by type would make more sense than it seems to make now.--PhantomJunkie 05:01, 7 August 2010

I wasn't sure of the order either, I just ordered them according to when they were released for the more recent ones...it really shouldn't matter though, since they're not numbered (yet) anyways. Jellotalk 05:07, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Jel is right. as of now we are just organizing this stuff as it comes out. once we get numbers, they will be re-organized. so it isnt a major concern right now. -- MAGNEDETH 19:49, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Help with customized signatures

Hi. I noticed a lot of users have customized signatures with different colors, fonts, and background colors. I was wondering if you could show me where to find the information on how to customize my signature. If possible, I would like to put a small image next to my signature as well as change the font and color. I know a lot of people ask you for help and that must be annoying so I'm sorry if I'm being a nuisance.--Alex726 19:19, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

The Signature policy has a section on how to customise your signature. It does, however, prohibit images in signatures, so you won't be able to have an image in it. You can get more specific control over the colour by changing the color:green in the example to color:#(hex code) where the hex code is the code for the colour you want, which you should be able to figure out with a quick Google search. Just remember that if you copy that coding, you need to make sure it points to your page, not to the example account. I hope that helps. Werdnae (talk) 21:02, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! It did help! I guess you can tell based on my new signature.--Alex726my talk 11:21, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

What's the difference between emailconfirmed and autoconfirmed?

Because in my preferences, it says that I'm emailconfirmed, not autoconfirmed. --Turtwig Lover 14:36, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm almost positive that being "autoconfirmed" is when you've made enough constructive edits to the mainspace, and been around long enough to be an established user. When you're autoconfirmed, you'll be able to do things like edit your own userpage. PhantomJunkie 14:51, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
As I'm waiting for autoconfirmation myself, I have investigated that it takes appr. 3 weeks and some mainspace edits.--でんのう Zえんし 15:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
emailconfirmed means that you have clicked the link in the email sent when you signed up. Being emailconfirmed is required to edit pages. As Phantomjunkie said, autoconfirmed is for "established users" and allows editing of the userspace and pages that have been protected so that only established users can edit them. The change from being emailconfirmed to autoconfirmed is handled by the software, and is done when both time and mainspace edit limits have been passed. The editorial board are keeping the exact limits secret, to encourage users to use the emailconfirmed period to learn how things are done, rather than just doing the minimum required to edit their userspace. Werdnae (talk) 21:08, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Accident

I meant to click preview but accidentally clicked done. --Batking30 18:06, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

No, actually you made 6 edits and then you got warned. The limit is 3 edits per day. You made 2 more after you got warned, totaling 8 edits. That doesn't look like an accident to me. I would suggest you stop editing your userpage for a while. Jellotalk 18:08, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about the HP bar

I didn't mean to pass around your work. From now on, I'll tell people to ask you, or better yet TTE, if they want to use the coding. PhantomJunkie 02:27, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey don't worry about it, I overreacted a bit, sorry if I came off as rude. TTE and Kogoro were the ones who originally worked on this HP thing in the first place, so just direct other users to that. Thanks. Jellotalk 04:26, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Aaaaand now I feel like a huge idiot and need to go apologize to Umeko too, because she was the one I initially asked for permission to copy her HP bar. I totally miscredited that. These past few days have been crazy for me and I need focus on reviewing what I'm writing before I actually post it. PhantomJunkie 05:21, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

File sizes..

Not really that important, but did you know that reducing/optimizing the file size of 1280x720 images makes the thumbnails and such much sharper when uploaded to the archives? I never knew this, and now I'm all excited because it makes the pages look much better. >_>;~★ cubicQUESTION 02:23, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

About the block

Not to argue about the block per se, but may I ask exactly why I got blocked? Yes, I know it was about the over-1000-pixel art thing, but I had two questions about it: 1) Why was Duke R, the original uploader, not also blocked? and 2) How was I "Ignoring constant warnings"? I got none. None whatsoever. I would not have known about the new restrictions if I was not blocked for an entire week, having to relay images to Nate and PR to upload.--immewnitythemew 00:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

The warnings were on the front page, which had been updated numerous times already, I don't know how you missed that. Secondly, Duke R uploaded that image, before Nate updated to add that any art over 1000 would result in a block, so he was able to get away with that. I wasn't the only one who agreed with this block, I had asked others what they had thought and this was the result. If you want to argue about your block, you can discuss it with either Nate, PR, or Kogoro. I'm not in a position to reconsider your block, so it would best to discuss it with them. Game release dates

Someone is changing a whole bunch of release dates for the main series games. I can't verify if the user is changing them to correct or incorrect dates, but I know one of the edits had already been reverted back in April. If you could look into it I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks. PhantomJunkie 00:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and checked a few reliable sources (Gamespot, IGN, Nintendo's press site) and they all seem to match the one that this user has changed them too. What I found odd is that we had them wrong all this time. Jellotalk 00:55, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

There's a dash between U and t. I see it was written correctly on Kojofu's learnset but for some reason you removed the dash. Pokémon/EarthBound clichés

Hi,

I just wtalked to PsychicRider about something...quite odd. It was about two Pokémon, Mewtwo and Deoxys, that turned out to be actually based from characters of the EarthBound series! Here's what I said on PsychicRider's talk page as well as Mewtwo and Deoxys pages

"Mewtwo may be based on Giegue (Giygas), the main anatagonist of the Japan-only Mother (video game) , before his body and soul were destroyed by its own PSI powers in EarthBound (series). Since many people working for APE.inc, including Benimaru Itoh, went on to Game Freak to create the Pokémon Series, it is possible that Mewtwo may be based on Giegue. Also, EVE(not the female droid from WALL-E!), a space alien virus, share this cliché with Deoxys The reason fans think Deoxys may be based on EVE from Mother (video game), is because both are alien space viruses who went under mutation when they were struck by a laser beam, and with the fact that most people who produced the EarthBound (series) went to create the Pokémon series, it is very likely that EVE was Deoxys' origin."

It isn't the end yet as Giegue and Mewtwo are extremely similar, only Giegue is blue, has a serene look, has a warm heart and has longer and bigger 'ears' than Mewtwo's. EVE's sprite is almost identical to Deoxys' Normal Forme, so I don't think there's a 'simple coincidence' between these two Pokémon and EarthBound aliens. Feel free to use the external links and find more if you don't have an idea about what I'm saying. Please tell me what do you think about this surprising fact. TokoyamiTheDark 23:39, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, this is totally not my area of expertise. I suggest you go back and look at Psy's talk page again. He's the leader of CharacterDex, not I. Jellotalk 00:10, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

I was wondering if you needed help with anything or any special requests. Right now I'm just kind of stumbiling upon errors. If not that's fine. You do have alot of stuff on your hands. (Pokemaster97 23:36, 6 October 2010 (UTC))

Sure, there's lots of stuff you can do. This category needs to be updated to the newer template as stated on that page. and there's also this category to look at. If you need further clarification, feel free to ask. Jellotalk 23:41, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Okay thank you for the suggestions I'll help with the templates. I do not understand the generation zero templates though. I'll get to editing :) (Pokemaster97 23:47, 6 October 2010 (UTC))

Uploading images

Hey. I'm not exactly new here but I'm a little nervous to edit sometimes. I'd like to get a better idea on uploading images before doing so and getting in trouble for something I didn't know about. So what's the best suggestion you could make to someone wanting to upload some pictures for articles (for example the new episodes' articles)? Does it really matter how they're gotten or is taking a print screen of an internet video (a good quality one) a big fat "no"? I'd really like to do more around so it'd be great if someone could point me in the right direction. :D Thanks! Jo The Marten 15:52, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Ah, don't be scared to upload! If you need guidance, looking at the Archives' MoS might help. For anime screenhots, they should be in .png format. BW###.png for episode head images, Trainer Pokémon.png for trainer's Pokémon, etc. It's okay if you don't get it right the first time. It would be preferred if you take screenshots from...a very good quality source. Youtube videos aren't the best (getting them in HD is okay though). If you need further clarification, let me know, I'd be happy to help. Jellotalk 15:59, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Personal Images

Well... so could you delete this file a:File:Ash's Charizard.gif  ? Now I have only two personal images! And why did you delete the file:Charizard fire furious.png ? It used to be in the Charizard's main article, but someone replace it to put a picture of a fight between Charizard and Articuno, when should be the file before that I uploaded(some admin said that!). Can I reupload and replace the file?

PS: I wrote that here because I could not do it in BulbaGarden wiki. So Sorry for that.

Pedraito 12:14, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Sure. First of all that image I deleted was not appropriate for the article, we had a better image already. Please don't upload that one again, it was really small and the quality wasn't good. Images should only be uploaded if they're going to be used on the wiki somewhere. Jellotalk 16:23, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Oh now Please

Can i have my userpage editing back? i promise that ill not steal again. instead ill ask someone to make it.--Ash's Infernape 10:10, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon Black and White Trivia

I think the pre-order bonuses should count as trivia based on the logic that the heartgold and soulsilver article puts the figures that came with a pre-order as a trivia item. Of course, it would need to be re-written. --+ Joeshie + (is Mæ!) 01:47, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Alright, I wasn't too sure about that. But it definitely needs to be reworded. Jellotalk 01:57, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Please, I begging you

Please, could you unlock picture uploading at least for a short period of time to edit pictures from BW005, cuz i have some very cool pictures of pokemon and attacks, so please... Just for uploading BW005, then if you want you lock uploading again... User:Salazar12

Sorry, but that's not up to me anymore. If you really feel the need to upload images, you can ask either Ataro, Adyniz or any other active admin uploading right now to upload it for you. Jellotalk 20:21, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey Jello

Just checking in with you. I got an email that said that you posted a comment on my talkpage, but I'm not seeing it, or maybe it's not showing up. I did want to express my condolences about your userpage. Another way to look at it is, it really is a huge compliment to you and what a brilliant coder you are, that so many people wanted to have a similar userpage to yours (or at least similar features on their own userpage), but I can understand how frustrating it must be to see your stuff showing up on other people's userpages and them not even asking you if it is okay that they borrow it, and then on top of that, modifying it little if at all, so it is obvious that it is your coding. I truly hope that you can find some kind of compromise, such as, perhaps, protecting your userpage from editing from anyone but yourself (actually, that might not be a bad idea for ALL users, something for the admins to think about...). Anyway, hope that all is well and that you are having a good day. --JediKnightDTV 01:11, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Sceptile Maniac had coppied theirs entire talk page to yours when they put that other stuff there as well. Jello was simply removing the stuff that shouldn't have been there. With Jello's userpage, the issue there is that protecting it doesn't stop people from looking at the coding and stealing it, it just stops them from saving changes, so protection wouldn't really have helped in this case. And in general, pages can only be protected so that certain user groups can edit them, rather than it being a user-by-user basis. In other words, there isn't a way to protect ordinary users' pages so that the user themselves can still edit them while other users can't. Werdnae (talk) 01:31, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Werdnae. It is too bad that it is not possible to do that, maybe in a future upgrade of the mediawiki software (something for the creators to think about...). Also maybe there could be a way to hide the code as well, so that what happened to Jello does not have to happen to other people in the future. Something to hope for, anyway :). --JediKnightDTV 01:45, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you Werd for explaining everything. That's pretty much all I did in order to get rid of all that useless clutter that shouldn't be on your talkpage anyway, nothing serious. Anyways, thank you Jedi, for your concern and understanding; it feels nice to be acknowledged for once, instead of accused of being unfair or "cranky". Jellotalk 02:29, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Mijumaru's Shell Blade

Just wanted to say sorry for thinking Shell Blade had been used in the newest episode. I saw in a screen what I thought was the animation for Shell Blade but was just Water Gun at an angle. I feel bad since I may have helped make you get extra annoyed at people adding Shell Blade to Mijumaru's moves list to the point of threatening a ban. I realised after actually watching the episode that Mijumaru hasn't actually used Shell Blade yet and that I might have bothered someone by acting so sure it had.--Gaiash 01:34, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

no, the only one who's annyoed at all this Shell Blade stuff is me. But please make sure to watch the episode before adding...don't trust what you see until you know what it is you're seeing...Ataro 02:08, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
It's alright I guess, but there were users after you as well who kept adding it back in...so it wasn't really directed at you. It basically turned into an edit war and so I had to say what I had to inorder for people to take things seriously. (Since I don't havet the ability to protect pages)It's usually a good idea not to add something back in if it gets reverted multiple times, and instead bring up the issue on the talkpage of the article. Template overlap, again

Hey Jel, remember I discussed the template overlap problem few months ago, it's happening again. Last time, you fixed it so I thought it's better to inform you about this. Just to be clear, I'm using Chrome and noticed this issue in it only while it's perfectly fine in firefox or opera. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 05:45, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Yeah hey, I could have easily fixed by removing the width parameter but...it's being used. Anyways, if you see a page messed up because of this template, just remove the width=something when using the template. Also, could you use Photobucket or imageshack next time to host your files? The Archives isn't really the place to host them. Thanks. Jellotalk 06:35, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, my bad. Yeah sure, I'll use imageshack next time. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:56, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
It's happening again, but it's your talk page this time. I removed the width thing from the first three style lines and it worked and overlapping ended but as a result, the color of the second layer of the template switched to purple instead of orange/brownish after I previewed the page. So, is there something that I missed while fixing it? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:11, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Or, you're using a timer to change the colors? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
More specifically, Arceus' timer. Hexagon Theory 06:18, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I removed the width part Jel and everything looks fine. I'm sorry for doing it without your permission though. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

I'll make sure to discuss it next time but this time I believe we discussed it that it is Dashiki. I'm just saddened that this caused such a uproar... -_- Crystal Power 20:01, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry about it, I saw your reply. Things like this do cause an uproar because Bulbapedia is very much against any speculation. In order to make assumptions, proof needs to be given, and now you know that. So, just bring it up on the article's talk page. Jellotalk 20:03, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Alright, I just really wish that since we talked about this already that trivia can stay. I promise I'll make sure to discuss things in the articles talk page in the future. You know it's that I seen that Caitlin has a similar trivia. "Caitlin dresses in the Japanese himegyaru ("princess gal") style." yet there is no proof. I posted the proof I even edited it to say only "that it resembles a Dashiki". I felt that I was attacked so quickly because I said African Dashiki. I notice people replied and said "she's not Black", the funny thing is I never said that? I was feeling very curious about those response I didn't try to break the rules. I hope you can understand this. Crystal Power 20:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
If I may interject, Jell asked me to reply. I looked over the isshu, and to be fair for all parties, I looked it up on Google and Wikipedia. To be honest, I don't see the resemblance between them and Iris's shirt. However, that is me and what I see. You see that she is wearing this dashiki. We both have conflicting views and we could argue about it forever. However, it would be best to just not add it or bring it up with an admin to add it if they see fit. However, if one person is just constantly adding it in, an admin might remove it as an opinion because one user is adding it in. As for Caitlin, I did look it up, and they did look extremely similar, however, I do believe that the look is up to the viewer to interpret. I hope this has clarified some bits of information. Thank you. --Psyライダー 20:51, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Psy. So there you have it Crystal, I just wasn't seeing it. If you really feel strongly about this, again, I ask that you bring it up on the talk page, so more people can respond that way, and offer more insight into it. I hope you understand. Jellotalk 21:50, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
That's okay I'd rather not be ambushed again by loons yelling "Iris is not Black" though I never said that, Thank you for your help anyways. =)

Animation

Should back sprites be animated to?--Pika3323 19:14, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Nope. Jellotalk 19:15, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Wait, why not? I thought they were in Black/White, and don't we want to be as complete as possible? I understand that it might not be a priority, but I'd like to have the most authentic sprites as possible (unless you're referring to pre-Gen V backsprites, which have just lame intro animations. I don't think we need those.). - unsigned comment from AndyPKMN (talkcontribs)
It's pretty much the same reason we didn't animated them for pre-Gen V. I'll mention this to Nate and the other people, maybe things might change this time around. But for now, we're keeping them static. Jellotalk 02:34, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok then, I already suck at animating anyways, just wondering.--Pika3323 01:17, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations

Here just to give cheers for your promotion. I've been following Bpedia more closely as of late and you sure have deserved it, so: Congratulations! =) Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 23:43, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

I wish to also add my congratulations, Jello. Thank you for all of the help that you have given to me and other users around the 'pedia, and all of the hard work you have put in around here. It is a well deserved promotion, and you earned it. --JediKnightDTV 00:58, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Kiss ups, I mean 'grats Jello! you deserved it Ataro 01:03, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You're all great users as well. :D Jellotalk 01:13, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Regarding manual editing of Pokémon disambiguation pages

So, it seems you guys have decided to make Pokémon pages direct to the species. It pains me to witness users doing it by hand. Are there really no programmers on the team that know how to send the form remotely? It would be as simple as copying the HTML for the submission form, modifying a few field values based on the Pokémon's name, and then adding the piping to the redirect before submitting. This could essentially be done for all 649 Pokémon in one fell swoop. Hexagon Theory 08:23, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

We aren't doing anything yet. The five or so pages that have been moved are for example only. —darklordtrom 08:24, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm not talking about moves, obviously. You guys are going through and adding "|[name]" to the disambiguation pages of every single Pokémon, are you not? This is rote behavior more suited to automation. - unsigned comment from Hexagon Theory (talkcontribs)
We have BulbaBot but all it can do is add and replace text, as far as I know. Jellotalk 08:30, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
So... why not use it to add the pipe and name to each disambiguation page? - unsigned comment from Hexagon Theory (talkcontribs)
Because the person who usually programs it is probably asleep. At any rate, there is a workaround we can use at the moment and we don't need to do anything just yet. Updating the template properly isn't required yet. —darklordtrom 08:43, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
If you don't need to do anything yet, why are you? Why did Jello recently modify Ampharos, Arcanine and Arbok's respective disambiguation pages? - unsigned comment from Hexagon Theory (talkcontribs)
I was just fixing it because apparently someone didn't use the template properly. Though, trom has fixed so that it's automated now. (Don't forget to sign with ~~~~) Jellotalk 08:48, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon Screenshots

Were do you get you photos for pre-Hoenn screenshots in the anime?

Mewtwo Strikes Back Photos

Hello, I'm having trouble finding good pictures for the following charaters' Pokémon, Neesha, Corey, and Fergus from Mewtwo Strikes Back. could you help me? DoTheWave 22:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I'm sorry, that link I sent you in the e-mail was pretty much my only source, haha. You'll just have to "find" the movies and take your own screenshots I guess. Jellotalk 22:16, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Question

Do you know why this is not showing --> Brendan Shiftry.png as an image? DoTheWave 04:00, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Because the image doesn't exist. You have to upload it. たかはり 04:09, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
No, it's because the server is having syncing issues. It exists on the Archives, just hasn't synced with Bulbapedia yet. Just be patient and forget about it. It'll show up on it's own soon enough. Jellotalk 04:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
It's "its"! Come on, Jello... Hexagon Theory 05:01, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Please?

Can I become a Jr Admin? If not can you at least tell me how to become one? - unsigned comment from Cool469 (talkcontribs)

Generally we look at the following criteria:
  1. Be here for more than six months.
  2. Make more than 500 mainspace edits.
  3. Understand Bulbapedia policies, such as not making articles about your own websites.
  4. Sign your posts with four tildes, as stated in the welcome on your talk page.
  5. Be actively involved in the cleanup and expansion of Bulbapedia.
Unfortunately, you currently fail all of them. —darklordtrom 06:20, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Psst, regarding the fifth criterion... : ) Hexagon Theory 06:25, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
You forgot 6. Don't ask to be one. --Darkeiya talk to me! 06:34, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Hexagon Theory. I added color to the page List of Pokémon by egg group. - unsigned comment from Cool649 (talkcontribs)

Regarding Generation V sprites...

So, I set up a convenient macro system to upload the Generation V sprites fairly rapidly only to eventually consider that perhaps the earlier Pokémon had been left empty on purpose; I imagine you're planning to eventually have all the G5 stuff be [APNG], no? —hexagonTHEORY 15:57, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

It's actually fine to upload them static, but yeah, eventually we do plan on having them be apng. What macro system are you using? I would love it if everything uploaded by itself too. It's actually pretty tiresome to upload all these sprites manually, hence why we're still missing quite a few of them. Anyways, whatever you're doing, keep on doing it, it's really helpful. Thanks! Jellotalk 16:56, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, it's a tad off-putting that you're okay with static even though you intend to eventually have animated; it makes it seem as if you reckon that day is rather far off—speaking personally, I imagine the spriting community will have everything done in a month. Either way, I don't mind uploading the statics and will continue to do so after a short nap. The macro is written using AutoHotKey, which is a small program that lets you "talk" to your computer in all sorts of ways. Essentially, I'm having a user JavaScript file run in the background, pluck out the relevant data (back or front, number, male/female, shiny) from the filename being uploaded and having it fill in the description accordingly. Then, I'm using that same information to concatenate the filename required to grab the requisite sprite from my machine; I'm putting that data into a dummy input field so that AHK can simulate a click and copy; from there, AHK simply "clicks" the blank upload field, simulates a paste and Enter to submit the form, then the file is uploaded. The only kink I ran into is having it know which blank file it should try to upload next; seeing as how there is so much variation due to some files being uploaded already and others not, as well as some Pokémon having gender differences, the script has to simulate going back two pages to determine the next red link to click. From there, it starts the process all over again. : ) It's really rather endearing to watch it work, but it's still quite a bummer that I don't have restricted FTP access of some sort; the entire Generation V set of sprites could be updated in no more than two or three minutes. —hexagonTHEORY 17:05, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Huh, that's really interesting, although a bit complicated. About the static sprites, it's better to have something rather than nothing, right? The spriting community animates in .gif anyway, so we'd still be stuck converting them to apng. Not many people know how to animate in the apng format, so it's usually one person doing them all. Not many people upload either. FTP access would make this a hundred times easier, but you know how wikis are. :P Thanks for explaining things. Jellotalk 17:31, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Only the description I put to it is complicated; essentially, it's a computer being made to do something exactly the way a human would, only slightly more efficiently. : ) Regarding static, yes, I suppose anything's better than a blank space. Now, on the matter of converting, I can deduce from the way you spoke there that the administration here at Bulbapedia doesn't consist of a single programmer; this notion utterly baffles me. Rest assured, when the time comes, I'd be happy to make perl turn all the .gif files into APNGs automagically. ^_^ —hexagonTHEORY 17:41, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm not really a programmer per say but I can usually understand the gist of it, haha. I think we have 2 tech guys who who work on the server side, and besides from the Editor in Chief himself, I don't think anyone else has access to the servers. I actually did find a little tool to convert the .gifs to apng but it only does one file at a time, sadly. Great to have a programmer on board on this wiki though, can't wait to see what you come up with next. Jellotalk 18:18, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
