Route 4 (Japanese: 4番道路Route 4) is a route in central Kalos, connecting Santalune City and Lumiose City. The route is also known as Parterre Way (Japanese: パルテール街道Parterre Highway).
The route is decorated with patches of different-colored flowers, hedge mazes, and a fountain. A group of Gardeners is in charge of taking care of the hedge mazes. At the north end of the route, there is a gate leading to Lumiose City. This where the player will, for the first time, meet Sina and Dexio, two assistants of Professor Sycamore, who will tell them about Flabébé and its Fairy-typing before leading them to Lumiose City.
A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here.
Route 4 appeared in What Does Charmander Do When It Dozes?, where X, Y, and their friends traveled through the route on their way from Santalune City to Lumiose City to meet up with Professor Sycamore. On their way, they found a Charmander, which eventually turned out to belong to Professor Sycamore, having escaped from his laboratory a few days earlier.
