Forest's Curse (Japanese: もりののろい Forest's Curse) is a non-damaging Grass-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Phantump and Trevenant.

Effect

Forest's Curse adds the Grass type to the target, in addition to the Pokémon's original type(s). If it is used against a dual-type Pokémon, that Pokémon will have three types at once. If the target already has an additional type added to it by Trick-or-Treat, that type is replaced with the Grass type.

Forest's Curse bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the opponent is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly. It will fail if the target is already Grass-type.

Description

Games Description
XYORAS The user puts a forest curse on the target. Afflicted targets are now Grass type as well.

Trivia

  • If a Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon (such as Kyurem) is affected by Forest's Curse, it becomes weak to 10 types, the most of any possible type combination outside of Inverse Battles.
  • If a Pokemon with a double weakness to Fire, like Genesect, is affected by Forest's Curse, it is the only time in the games where a Pokemon takes 8X the base damage from a Fire type move like Fire Blast.
