Professor Kukui (Japanese: ククイ博士 Professor Kukui) is a Pokémon Professor in the Alola region, a teacher at the Pokémon School on Melemele Island and a major supporting character of the Pokémon anime in the Sun & Moon series.
History
Professor Kukui made his debut appearance in Alola to New Adventure!, where he along with Mallow introduced Ash to the Pokémon School of Melemele Island, of which he is a teacher and later in the episode, Ash decided that he would stay in Professor Kukui's house, while he attends the Pokémon School. In [[SM002|the following episode], he gave Ash the Rotom Pokédex.
He appeared in SM010, where he referred Ash's Island challenge against Hala.
Character
Principal Oak is a fairly serious, but happy character. Despite this, he usually likes to add the names of moves into conversations every now and then, much like how Samson Oak uses Pokémon puns.
