All the research questions should go in the last one, I think.)

Spectral Thief (Japanese: シャドースチール Shadow Steal) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature move of Marshadow. It can be upgraded to the special Z-Move Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike by Marshadow holding Marshadium Z.

Effect

This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Does it steal stat boosts from Pokemon that use Dig/Fly/Dive/Bounce? Can it miss a Pokemon that raised its Evasion?
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Spectral Thief causes the user to steal the target's stat boosts and then do damage. It also bypasses substitutes.

Spectral Thief will only steal enough boosts to reach +6 stages in each stat; if the sum of the user's existing stat boosts and the target's stat boosts exceeds +6 in a stat, the target will retain any excess boosts. If the user has the Ability Simple, then the stolen stat boosts will be doubled; if the user has the Ability Contrary, then the stat boosts will be inverted.

Spectral Thief cannot steal stat boosts from Normal-type Pokémon.

Description

Games Description
SM The user hides in the target's shadow, steals the target's stat boosts, and then attacks.
