Parting Shot (Japanese: すてゼリフ Parting Shot) is a non-damaging Dark-type move introduced in Generation VI. Prior to Generation VII, it was the signature move of Pancham and Pangoro.
Effect
Generation VI
Parting Shot lowers the target's Attack and Special Attack stats by one stage each, and then switches the user out. Pokémon with the Ability Soundproof are not affected by this move.
The user will not switch out if Parting Shot fails (such as if it has no target), if the target is immune due to Soundproof, or if it is blocked by a protection move. However, the user will switch even if the target does not have its stats lowered, such as if the target has the Ability Clear Body or is protected by Mist. The user will not be switched out if it is a wild Pokémon or its Trainer has no Pokémon to switch in.
If Parting Shot is used on a Pokémon with the Ability Magic Bounce, the effect will be bounced back to the user, lowering its Attack and Special Attack, and the target will switch out instead.
If an opponent uses Pursuit on the same turn Parting Shot is used, Pursuit will deal normal damage if the foe is faster, or double damage if the foe is slower than the user.
Generation VII
The user no longer switches out if Parting Shot is unable to reduce the target's stats due to an Ability like Clear Body, or if both stats have already reached their minimum stage.
If powered up by a Darkinium Z into Z-Parting Shot, the Pokémon sent out to replace the user has its HP fully restored.
If Z-Parting Shot fails to switch the user out, but the user proceeds to faint later in the same turn, or gets forced to switch with a move like Roar, the Pokemon sent in as a replacement will receive this HP restoration; otherwise the Z-Power will have no effect.

Trivia
- A glitch in Generation VII's Battle Spot caused battles to crash when Parting Shot was used as a Z-Move. The same problem occurred with Memento. As a result, both moves were temporarily banned from Battle Spot battles starting in November 2016. The glitch was fixed in the version 1.1 update.
