This disk was awarded as a participation prize at each Gather! Battle Tournament event held at any participating store with a Pokémon Ga-Olé arcade machine between November 11 and 26, 2017. Entrants were challenged to defeat Battle Leader Takade and his team of 4 Pokémon—those who successfully defeated his team could select to dispense a "WINNER" version of either this disk or a Lunala disk following the battle. Entrants who were not successful could dispense a non-winner version of either this disk or the Lunala disk at random. All participants were given a Ga-Olé Pass sticker featuring Groudon and Kyogre. Players achieving the highest score at each event were also awarded a certificate featuring Solgaleo and Lunala. The first 50 participants in junior high school or below at each event could also apply for participation in the Full-Force Battle ~Legendary Pokémon Challenge!~ held in early 2018.
Two more Gather! Battle Tournament events were held at Seven Town malls: one in Azusawa, Tokyo on November 23, 2017 and another in Sengendai, Saitama on November 26, 2017. The format was the same as previous events, although the top 5 players at each of these events earned a different certificate featuring Solgaleo and Lunala and gained preferential entry into the upcoming Full-Force Battle ~Legendary Pokémon Challenge!~.
