Repels are a type of item introduced in Generation I. These items can be used outside of battle to avoid encounters from wild Pokémon that are at a lower level than the first Pokémon in your party. In Generation III to V, Repels instead looked at the first conscious member of your party.
The following are the different types of Repels:
- Repel, a type of Repel that avoids battles for 100 steps
- Super Repel, a type of Repel that avoids battles for 200 steps
- Max Repel, a type of Repel that avoids battles for 250 steps
