Light That Burns the Sky (Japanese: 天焦がす滅亡の光 Heaven-Scorching Light of Destruction) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type Z-Move introduced in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It is the exclusive Z-Move of Ultra Necrozma and a transformed version of its Photon Geyser.

Effect

Light That Burns The Sky compares the user's Attack and Special Attack stats, dealing damage to the target using the higher stat. If the user's Attack is greater than its Special Attack, this move's damage will be calculated with the user's Attack and the target's Defense; if its Special Attack is equal to or greater than its Attack, the damage will factor in the user's Special Attack and the target's Special Defense. This does not take Pure Power or Huge Power into account. This move also ignores the target's Ability.

Games Description USUM This attack inflicts Attack or Sp. Atk damage—whichever stat is higher for the user, Necrozma. This move ignores the target’s Ability.

Learnset

Ultra Necrozma can use Light That Burns the Sky if it knows Photon Geyser, holds an Ultranecrozium Z, and if its Trainer wears a Z-Power Ring.

Trivia

• Light That Burns the Sky is one of the few damaging Z-Moves to have additional effects beyond the standard perfect accuracy and 25% Protect bypassing. The others are 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, Clangorous Soulblaze, Genesis Supernova, Malicious Moonsault, Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, Searing Sunraze Smash, Splintered Stormshards, and Stoked Sparksurfer. (Extreme Evoboost does not deal damage.)
  • Light That Burns the Sky, Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, and Searing Sunraze Smash are the only damaging Z-Moves that retain the original effects of their respective base moves.
