Iris's Gible (Japanese: アイリスのフカマル Iris's Fukamaru) is the fifth Pokémon Iris obtained.
History
Iris first encountered Gible when she entered Blackthorn City. The Land Shark Pokémon had been biting city property, which was causing significant damage. He was being chased out of town by the local citizens after biting into another building, but Iris stepped in to defend him, which gave him a chance to escape.
Gible remained in Blackthorn and climbed up a clock tower to get a better view of the city. However, a large gust of wind caused Gible to fall, and he barely managed to hang on to one of the clock's arms. Iris determinedly ascended the clock tower and was able to save him, despite the danger that she and Gible could both fall off. Afterwards, Iris read Gible's memories and discovered that he had been sleeping on a tree and accidentally fallen onto a Skarmory. It had been startled by this and flown away, eventually dropping Gible into the city. Gible had become confused with his new surroundings, which were very different from his previous peaceful habitat. Iris soon met with Clair and the two of them took Gible to the Dragon Holy Land so he could live in nature once again.
Gible did not remain at the Dragon's Den for long. When Iris had her battle with Clair, Gible dug his way in to the Gym to watch the match. After the battle, when Iris was leaving, Gible appeared once again. Iris then understood that Gible wanted to go with her and caught him with a Poké Ball. After he was caught, Gible and his new Trainer saw the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza flying across the sky.
Personality and characteristics
Similar to Ash's Gible, he has the habit of biting individuals on the head, particularly Iris's Axew. Gible seems to be a bit oblivious, ignoring everything going on around him and simply doing as he pleases. He is also quite destructive, destroying an area of Blackthorn City with just his teeth and Dig attack.
