Korean Name Origin

아마까오 is based off of 아마 -> "armor" and 까오,the onomatopoeia of a raven's caw --Buddy002 (talk) 20:36, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Chinese Name Origin

鋼鎧鴉 -> 鋼 "steel" (In fact, the same character used for the steel type) 鎧 "armor" 鴉 "raven/crow" Together, it means a crow with steel armor.--Buddy002 (talk) 21:23, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Origin

Rather than a jackdaw, it's more likely that it is based on the common raven. They are the largest corvids found in Britain and live in the Tower of London. There is an English legend that England would not fall to invaders as long as there were ravens at the Tower of London, further tying in to its "Knight" aesthetic. Also, the official page on pokemon.com refers to it as the "Raven Pokemon".
