The Prof's Letter (Japanese: はかせのてがみ Dr.'s Letter) is a Key Item introduced in Generation VI. It is a letter Professor Sycamore wrote to the player's mother explaining the request he asked of her child.

Professor's Letter

The Professor's Letter as a Item card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English XY Series (the Japanese XY Era). First released in the XY expansion, this Item card allows the player to search their deck for up to 2 basic Energy cards, and, after revealing them to their opponent, add them to their hand. The player shuffles their deck afterward.
