Release information

This card was included in the Forbidden Light expansion with artwork by You Iribi, first released in the Japanese expansion of the same name. A SM Black Star Promotional print of this card was one of the Prerelease promos for Forbidden Light with new artwork by Shin Nagasawa, available in the Forbidden Light Build & Battle Box. A print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was given to those overseeing the event. This print was subsequently available in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset. A new print with artwork by Hideki Ishikawa featuring the Shiny version of Malamar was included in the Hidden Fates expansion, which was also included in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset. In Japan, the Forbidden Light print was reprinted in the Tag Team GX Premium Trainer Box, Espeon & Deoxys-GX Tag Team GX Starter Set and in the Tag All Stars subset.
