In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Flamethrower is a move with base power of 18, 12 PP and 88% accuracy. The attack travels up to 10 tiles away and hits the first Pokémon it encounters, ally or enemy, even if they are frozen (thawing them in the process), and possibly inflicting a burn.

In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, the move's accuracy has been reduced to 83.6%.

In Gates to Infinity onwards, the move has range of only 4 tiles. Also when used by Gigantic Pokémon in Gates to Infinity, Flamethrower requires a turn to charge before unleashing the move.

Super Smash Bros. series

Flamethrower in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In the original Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee, Charizard will use Flamethrower side-to-side when sent out of a Poké Ball.

Since becoming playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Flamethrower is Charizard's Neutral Special move. The direction of the flame can be slightly tilted up and down, and its power and range weaken progressively with extended use.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Flamethrower is Charizard's first move. It is obtained by evolving into Charmeleon at level 5 and upgrading Flame Burst into it instead of Fire Punch. The user attacks with a blast of fire while moving, damaging and burning enemies in a line. The user gains a small movement speed bonus if they hit. The burn lasts 4s and reduces enemy Attack by 5%. At level 11, its damage is increased.
