Spidops (Japanese: ワナイダー Wanaidā) is a Bug-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
It evolves from Tarountula starting at level 15.
Biology
Spidops is an arachnoid Pokemon resembling a net-casting spider. Spidops has eight total legs, segmented into four pairs and bunched together to evoke a humanoid stance. These pairs of legs converge upon beige spherical joints nestled within the sides of its main body, two positioned like shoulders near its head and two beside the ring-shaped intersection dividing its chest and abdomen. The chest piece is pine-green with rigid frontwards carvings on each side, divided by a square beige neck patch beneath the head to evoke a vest. The abdomen is cylindrical and cloaked in bands of Spidops’s white silk to resemble a spool of yarn, ending at the tip with an inverted conical peg.
Its head is ovular and adorned with six total eyes- four smaller ones wrapping around the beige sides, and two enlarged ones with squinted white pupils positioned atop a pine green face covering. This covering sports rhombus-shaped pedipalps protruding from its sides to evoke a mustache, and ends in two triangular chelicerae bunched together to form a shield shape. Beneath these chelicerae lies a circular mouth.
The legs of a Spidops are slender cylinders connected by two rigid hinges. The femur and elbow hinge are beige, whereas the tibia and “foot” hinge are green. All eight feet possess white circular ports that serve as spinnerets, which Spidops can use to string silk tripwires and nets. Spidops can alternate at will between clustering its legs together for a quadrupedal crawl, and separating them to assist in precise web-spinning.
Spidops are covert ambush predators that utilize their resilient silk threads to cling upon any surface and move without making a sound. Spidops spins a net between its top four legs which it utilizes to smother its prey, striking before the prey even has time to react. It prefers sticking onto the sides of bamboo and trees, and strings its territory with silken hazards to trap intruders. Spidops actively spars against rival Scyther to maintain their ground and ensure the safety of their Tarountula young.
Spidops is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Silk Trap.

Trivia
- Spidops shares its category with Stunfisk. They are both known as the Trap Pokémon.
- Spidops is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 404.
- Spidops also has the lowest base stat total out of all fully-evolved or non-evolving Pokémon introduced in Scarlet and Violet.
Origin
Spidops may be based on an ogre-faced spider, who are known to hold their legs together in pairs and cast nets. Their segmented wooden body and association with strings may also derive cues from marionettes. Its eyes resemble ballistic eyewear or night-vision goggles.
Name origin
Spidops may be a combination of the words spider and ops (abbreviation of "operations"). It may also take cues from "Deinopis," the genus of net-casting spiders home to the ogre-faced spider.
Wanaida may be a combination of 罠 wana (trap), spider, and Schneider (German for "tailor" and "long-legged arachnid").
