Talk:Pokémon nation
Okay so
Isshu has caused this to have an issue. They're different countries. What do we call this one? TTEchidna 17:37, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'd wait until we get more info from the games. If Isshu uses the National Pokédex (and, more importantly, calls it the National Pokédex) then Isshu is still the same nation as the rest of the games. Just because it's far enough away from another place to use new numbers doesn't mean it's not in the same country. After all, there are 30 different cities in the United States with the name "Franklin". --Purimpopoie 18:01, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm gonna bring this up again
Because it needs to be. If Kanto-Johto-Hoenn-Sinnoh does not receive a name in BW, then I propose we move this page to Kantohjoennoh. TTEchidna 21:27, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Why not put (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) as a disambiguation for this one and (Isshu) for the other? The only problem would be the title length for the first one. Kantohjoennoh really just sounds weird imo. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 22:50, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Unova
Pokemon of Unova is part of "National Pokedex", isn't it?--Martianmister 00:35, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Honestly, if there's one thing about Unova that should be taken as given, that is the fact that it is located on a country other than Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sevii Islands and Sinnoh. It is extensively stated in the games, and it's been made a big deal about. "National" Pokédex is probably either a misinterpretation by Game Freak's part or a matter of tradition. Perhaps they thought it would be awkward to introduce an "International Pokédex" and rearrange the numbers in a more neutral way, and just as awkward to axe the current numbering, which has release time as the ordering variable. Maybe an International Pokédex without numbers as the ordering theme will be introduced (like the family ordering in FRLG), but even at this time, I personally don't see any reason to state Unova is on the same country as the other regions. --Ash_Pokemaster 15:03, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Kalos
Pokémon of Kalos also has National Pokédex numbers. I don't think the regions are one big nation. If Unova is stated to be far from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh and has a National Pokédex. I think this page is being too literal with "National Pokédex." It could have meant International Pokédex and Nintendo saw it as too long. Since Kalos is based on France which is far from the other regions, I'm not sure if this is one big nation or not. SeanWheeler (talk) 20:04, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
- I agree that having this entire page based on speculation about the word "national" is silly. (As a side note, I don't think it's so much a shortening of "international" as just a term that was used prior to non-Japan-based regions, and Nintendo probably just hasn't thought it important enough to bother changing it.) I've marked the page with the discussdelete tag. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:30, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
- I believe that the Pokémon World page is far more expansive and informative than this article will ever be. I too wouldn't mind if this article were deleted. --Pokemaster97 03:36, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- I agree with Pokemaster fully. This page seems too speculative and redundant. --Wynd Fox 03:57, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- It is apparently mentioned in Shudo's anime novelizations, so it's not entirely speculative. But yes, basing its existance on the name National Pokédex is dumb. --SnorlaxMonster 04:22, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest a merge with Pokémon world as well. --ZestyCactus 04:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Merge
These pages should remain separated since they are not similar enough. QwertyJacob750 (talk) 20:55, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
Delete
It was proposed quite a while ago that this page was either deleted or merged with Pokémon World. Having just taken a look at both articles, it seems as almost all useful information here is already there as well, so aside from one or another small topic here, the articles are already technically merged into Pokémon World. Considering this and the fact that having this article on its own is a lot of speculation and is now outdated (if not obsolete), there is no more real purpose to this page, and I support its deletion.
Just though of restarting this discussion because its been unsolved for a lot of time, and maybe we can help a final decision to be made. Suic (talk) 12:39, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
"confirmed to be part of the Pokémon nation, as they all use the same National Pokédex listing."
well, Unova and Kalos also use said National Pokédex listing, so wouldn't that confirm those as part of said nation? Pikachu210 (talk) 23:29, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
Delete
Yeah, so, a lot of this article is fanon, and the last reference to a Pokémon "Nation" in-game was in DPPt (1½ decades ago). Admins, delete, plz. Pale Prism (talk) 23:44, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- The Editorial Board decided this page should be merged with Pokémon world. Much of this page was rampant speculation with little support. Being part of the Pokémon world article is plenty for the useful kernels.
- The merge has been done. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:10, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
