Scolipede is a centipede-like Pokémon that usually stands with the front half of its body raised vertically off the ground. Its segmented body is dark magenta, except for its smooth, dark gray underside. Long, slightly bent horns similar to antennae extend from its head, as well as an identical pair of horns on its rear. Purple bands decorate these horns, and teardrop-shaped rings of the same color mark each body segment, one on each side of its body. It possesses four pairs of short, purple fore-claws on the body segments that make up its neck, which is used to inject poison. The four hind legs are longer, thicker, and spaced farther apart. Each hind limb has curved dark gray bands around the middle.
Scolipede lives in lush forests. It is very aggressive and will not give up until victorious. This Pokémon chases down enemies with great speed and then attacks relentlessly with its horns until it prevails. It latches onto the prey with the claw's toxic spikes and then slams it into the ground for the deadly poison effect. Centiskorch is the natural predator or prey of Scolipede, depending on who wins the territorial fight.
Scolipede debuted in The Bloom Is on Axew!. Iris's Axew fell out of a tree and got caught in Scolipede's antennae. This startled Scolipede and caused it to go on a rampage, until Iris's Excadrill decided to defeat it with Drill Run.
In Emolga the Irresistible!, Bianca accidentally enraged a Scolipede by having her Pignite use Flamethrower on Scolipede when she thought it was the wild Emolga she was after. As such, it attacked Ash, Cilan, and Bianca. The three Trainers soon managed to escape from the angry Megapede Pokémon.
In Team Plasma's Pokémon Manipulation!, another Scolipede was a test specimen of Colress's. It was released by him as soon as it fired off an attack, however.

Scolipede, the Megapede Pokémon and the evolved form of Whirlipede. Scolipede moves quickly, chasing down its opponents while aggressively using its horns to attack them.
Scolipede is at its most aggressive when it’s chasing down foes at full speed. It has a tendency to curl up into a ball when it sleeps—that might be an old habit from long ago.
Despite the Scolipede and Centiskorch evolutionary families living in different parts of the Galarregion, both Venipede and Scolipede's Pokédex entries speak of their hostile relationship with the latter family.
Scolipede may be based on a centipede, most likely the Scolopendra gigantea, while its horns resemble that of Scolopendra cingulata. It could also be based on Arthropleura, a prehistoric relative of centipedes that grew to two-and-a-half meters. Additionally, Scolipede has a little in common with millipedes, and may also draw inspiration from a red Archispirostreptus gigas, a species of millipede often kept as a pet.
Name origin
Scolipede may be a combination of Scolopendra (genus of centipedes) and centipede or millipede.
