Crobat is a purple, chiropteranPokémon with a small, round body. It has long, pointed ears, yellow eyes with red pupils, and a small mouth that usually has its teeth bared. On its body are two pairs of wings: an upper pair that is slightly larger and a lower pair that developed from its hind legs. Both pairs have green-blue membranes, but the lower pair's membranes are only visible from the back. The upper wings have two claw-like fingers near the middle. On the bottom of its body are what appear to be a pair of stubby feet or tufts of fur.
Crobat is capable of flying long distances by alternating between its two sets of wings. The extra set of wings has also improved its flight speed without sacrificing its ability to fly silently. It can also travel through cramped caves without ever slowing. The combination of silent flight and sharp fangs allows it to bite down on prey without being noticed and drain their blood. If unable to consume blood, it becomes lethargic and unable to fly. Due to its lack of legs, it is clumsy on the ground and only able to crawl around with its wings. Crobat is rarely found in the wild, though it is typically found in caves or on tree branches, where it hangs upside-down by its rear wings. It is a nocturnal Pokémon.
In Control Freak!, Brock's Crobat evolved from his Golbat, thus also marking the species' debut. After the Johto saga, he gave it to his younger brother Forrest but has since reclaimed it.
A Crobat appeared in Team Dim Sun as one of the Pokémon Heath controlled.
Pokémon Adventures
Crobat debuted in Crossing Crobat, where Janine used one to battleSuicune. After Suicune countered its first attack, Janine ordered Crobat to use Double Team. Suicune was able to see through this as well, however, due to the shadow cast by the real Crobat and Janine, and Crobat was frozen.
A Bat Pokémon that evolves from Golbat, Crobat's hind legs have evolved into a second pair of wings, which allows it to fly at great speeds but limits its ability to rest. The affection a Golbat has for its Trainer is vital for the evolution process: if a novice Trainer has a Crobat, it shows that he or she cares for Pokémon well.

This Pokémon was unavailable prior to Generation II.
If this Pokémon is flying by fluttering only a pair of wings on either the forelegs or hind legs, it's proof that Crobat has been flying a long distance. It switches the wings it uses if it is tired.
Crobat sneaks up on its intended prey using wings that barely make a sound. This Pokémon rests by hanging on a tree branch with its rear legs that serve as wings.
Over the course of evolution, its hind legs turned into wings. By alternately resting its front and rear wings, it can fly all day without having to stop.

Its hind limbs have become another set of wings. Crobat expertly maneuvers its four wings to dart in exquisite fashion through even the most confined caves without losing any speed.
Sure, Crobat’s a speedy flier, but I hope you also noticed how quiet its four wings are! It sometimes lands to rest, but it’s not very good at walking.
Crobat and its pre-evolved forms share their category with Woobat. They are all known as the Bat Pokémon.
Crobat's color scheme is the reverse of Golbat's. This also applies to its Shiny variation.
Crobat's evolutionary family has several similarities with Swoobat's. All of the members of both lines are based on bats and reach their respective final evolved form by friendship.
Although Crobat's Pokédex entries imply that its only pair of hindlegs have developed into wings, Crobat is sometimes depicted with an additional pair of tiny legs/feet.
Origin
Crobat seems to be based on a bat, particularly vampire bats, which bite other animals to feed on their blood. It may also be inspired by mythological vampires. Its extra set of wings may be based on the fact that a bat's front legs and hindlegs are connected by their patagium, essentially incorporating all of their limbs into their wings. Its very high Speed stat may be based on the Mexican free-tailed bat, which purportedly has the fastest horizontal flight speed of any animal. Its Poison type may be inspired by either the anticoagulant properties of vampire bat saliva or the fact that bats are infamous for spreading deadly diseases such as rabies.
Name origin
Crobat may be a combination of cross and bat. It may also involve acrobat (referring to its agility in the air).
