This card was included as one of two SM Black Star Promotional Pokémon-GX in the Island Guardians Tins released starting May 19, 2017. In Japan, it was released in the Tapu Bulu-GX Enhanced Starter Set on March 17, 2017. It was reprinted, along with a Full Art card, and a Secret Rainbow Rare in the Japanese Facing a New Trial subset. The Regular print features artwork by PLANETA, while the Full Art and Rainbow Rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics. The Full Art and Rainbow Rare prints were later included in the Burning Shadows expansion. An entirely gold Full Art print with artwork also by 5ban Graphics was included in the Hidden Fates expansion, first released in the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny subset.
