Regieleki is an electric golem-like Pokémon made mostly of electric energy generated by a single organ. It has a round yellow body with three spikes on top of its head, and a pattern of seven pink dots on its face that resembles the letter "X". Regieleki's arms are shaped like lightning and usually appear bunched together, while its legs are tiny and resemble both lightning bolts and an electrical plug. Its body can glow bright yellow when attacking.
Regieleki has five blue rings on its body, with two on the base of its arms acting as its shoulders, and the other three located at the bottom connecting to its legs. These rings are insulated and cannot conduct electricity, and are believed to have been put on it by ancient people who were tormented by it, in order to restrain its powers.[1] According to legend, Regieleki was created by Regigigas using pure electric energy. Regieleki absorbs electrons in order to stay alive and is said to have the greatest power of any Electric-type Pokémon,[1] being powerful enough to generate all of Galar's electricity. It is said that if the rings on its body were to be removed, Regieleki would be able to unleash its latent powers.
Regieleki is the smallest and lightest of the Legendary giants, at 3'11" (1.2 m) and 319.7 lbs. (145.0 kg).
Regieleki is the only member of the Legendary giants that cannot learn Hammer Arm by leveling up. Instead, it learns Thunderbolt.
Regieleki's base HP and Speed stats are the reverse of Regidrago's.
Origin
Regieleki seems to be based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened, or even killed in some legends. Regieleki's face that consists of seven dots may be based on Braille alphabet which was necessary to use to encounter the Legendary giants for the first time in Sealed Chamber.
Regieleki also seems to be based on the concept of an electric charge being restrained by electrical insulation. Its overall shape resembles an incandescent light bulb, its restraints resemble electrical coils, its arms resemble electric arcs, and its legs resemble a power plug. As an electric generator found in ancient ruins, its inspiration may also be drawn from an out-of-place artifact (OOPART), such as the Baghdad Battery.
The five Legendary giants may collectively be themed after historical epochs, with Regieleki representing the Modern Age.
Name origin
Regieleki may be a combination of regis (Latin for royal) and エレキ ereki (Japanese for electric).
