10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt (Japanese: 1000まんボルト 10,000,000 Volts), pronounced as Ten Million Volt Thunderbolt (Japanese: いっせんまんボルト Issenman Boruto), is a damage-dealing Electric-type Z-Move introduced in Generation VII. It is the exclusive Z-Move of any Pikachu in a cap and an upgraded version of its Thunderbolt.

Generation VIII onwards

10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt cannot be selected in a battle.

Description

Games Description SMUSUM The user, Pikachu wearing a cap, powers up a jolt of electricity using its Z-Power and unleashes it. Critical hits land more easily. SwShBDSPLA SV This move can't be used. It's recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can't be remembered.

Learnset

Any Pikachu in a cap, or a Pokémon transformed into one, can use 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt if it knows Thunderbolt, holds Pikashunium Z, and if its Trainer wears a Z-Ring^SM or Z-Power Ring^USUM.

This is also one of the two moves to naturally have a sharply increased critical hit ratio, alongside Spacial Rend when used by Origin Forme Palkia. The name of this move is partly based on the Japanese name for Thunderbolt, 100,000 Volts. The 10,000,000 figure references that it is an upgrade of Thunderbolt. Along with Catastropika, 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt is the only species-exclusive Z-Move to have a unique pose not shared with other Z-Moves of the same type. Coincidentally, both are exclusive to Pikachu, although 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt can only be used by Pikachu in a cap. Pokémon Masters EX is the only game where World Cap Pikachu can use the Z-Move 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, as it is unable to perform the move in the core series games. In Pokémon Masters EX, no other sync move has Best Buds 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt's effect. Even though Z-Moves have been absent from core series games since Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, this move is referenced by Iono upon being defeated for the first time in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: "You're as flashy and bright as a 10,000,000-volt Thunderbolt, friendo!" A similar move named MegaVolt (Japanese: １００まんボルト 1,000,000 Volts) was shown much earlier on in Pokémon Adventures by Red's Pikachu, Pika, to defeat Lance.
